Visiting on the 4th day of CNY at 7:30 am, the place was bustling with locals queued up eagerly, some even bringing their own containers for takeaways, a testament to the popularity of this spot.
My wife had been craving the signature dish since her return, and we were eager to indulge. However, the ambiance left much to be desired. The familiar sights of wet and sticky floors, coupled with the unmistakable scent of rat urine near the basin, dampened the experience.
It's clear that this place is not geared towards outsiders seeking a pristine dining environment. In fact, I would caution against setting high expectations based on glowing reviews. Yet, despite the less-than-ideal conditions, the generous portion of the dish, priced at RM12 per bowl, made it a worthwhile indulgence.
While the price may seem steep for some, the quality and quantity of the ingredients used justify the cost. Overall, this local eatery offers a taste of nostalgia and a glimpse into the heart of the neighborhood, making it a cherished spot for locals despite its shortcomings.

I came here with my grandparents - a spot for locals but expect TERRIBLE and DIRTY service. We have a family of 8 but was forced to squeeze into a table of 4. When we tried to attach a table that was available next to us, we got YELLED at by your staff. Crazy. Not once, but twice. We were only trying to sit on a table that would fit us appropriately but How dare your staff YELL at us and SCOLD us for giving you business!! I never raise my voice and always am very patient with servers but this is the first time I had to protect my family by saying “don’t scold us”. After that, she continued yelling, saying that we started it? terrible. Your staff yelled us inappropriately, and then had to be a child and play the blame game? After that, they finally gave us a table after seeing me type this review. 🙄 Kitchen is dirty, workers are not masked up despite increasing numbers of covid cases, no aprons and they’re all sweating through their shirts with a drip towel around their neck. Toilet is dirty, hand wash basin has egg shells and clogged up?? 🧐 spend your money elsewhere because I couldn’t enjoy the food after receiving such 💩🚽 service. The food doesn’t even make up for the rude servers.

Followed the review came to this shop. It’s not difficult to find and it’s fully packed.
Ordered the vege FenGan and it took a while to serve as there were many orders. It’s so worth the trip to come here to try it. The soup is very rich in flavor, the meat is also well marinated. The whole combination was perfect.
I also ordered the Fuzhou SiuMai. To my surprised, it’s very very delicious. The boss claimed he made all the siumai himself. It’s more of the old school taste like how I had when I was a kid.
If I come to sibu again, I will definitely come here!

The portion of 糟菜 粉干 chaocai hoongan is big, with generous amount of meat balls. The soup base is yummy, slightly sour and flavourful. The price for each bowl is RM12.00. Just that dining in this kopitiam made us feel very uncomfortable. The environment is dirty, the floor is sticky and wet, the table is old, sticky and not stable (goyang-goyang). And it is quite hot. The kopi O served is quite thin and not good. Suggestion for the tauke: pls renovate your shop as your business is Soooo Goooood. Do let the customers from outstation to have good impression and good dining experience in your shop.

This is a must try food in Sibu. U will regret if u come Sibu without trying this.
It is something very unique and special by the Foochow, the taste is sour, the minced pork are big and tasty, comes with some fresh tomato and egg, the soup are added with some traditionally made red wine.
The portion is very big,I recommend 2girls to share 1bowl, or else example if u go 6person just order 4bowl, 10person order 7bowl u can devide it out.
If u go on a peak hour u will have to wait for your seat, after waiting for your seat then u have to wait for the food around 20mins - 1hour.

Sour Vegggie Soup Bihun
Visited this stall located at the end and ordered 糟菜粉. Very recognisable stall with baskets of vermicelli placed within. Contrary to what some review mentioned, it's a totally no q no need wait for long before getting the food experience. I did not rate a full because kinda disappointed with what I got. While the red wine infused soup is typically pleasantly sour because of the sour veges. The vermicelli texture is kinda a little bit less firm not to my liking. Btw the red meats servings are generous and said to be fermented by "??" that's why red.
Overall it's a fine experience to try local food while coffeeshop hoping.

Come early around 8am if you don't like to wait. It took 15mins to wait for a table, and another 30mins to wait for food to arrive. Food is tasty, and they don't scrimp on ingredients. They close quite early, so plan this meal for breakfast as they're closed by lunchtime.
