This is how my food arrived after a 50 minute wait. Knife nicely bathed in my gravy and mash 💦 💦 didn't want to use it anyway. Cocktails were bland and tasted like they were basically watered down.. Went there for an early dinner, only to be told the lamb had run out. Two of the four meals ordered came 15 minutes later than the first two. Table service lacked attention to detail. Food was nice once out, but service at the Palmerston North franchise needs improvement, and better training for server staff is suggested. Our waitress...forgive me, I forgot her name, Sherry?...was brilliant on an expectedly busy night which only had two servers. She was exceptionally patient with my two special needs sons. We just happened to stop in to lone star and get a seating by chance and ordered a lasso of hog and a 250g sirloin steak it was bloody amazing and the service was truly outstanding. There was a desert chef always ready to help wonderfully polite and the sales people There were two ...I think one was called Tom.b truly amazing service....this place i attend to brag about because they are a place my husband and I will take our family back to in future just because they have outstanding service and food. Food was good, cooked well, portions seem smaller from a year ago, when I last ate at the Lone Star and like everything else, prices have gone up, service was super fast, almost had a bottle of beer all over me, when the waitress brought my husband's beer to him! Fortunately, it landed on the floor and up the wall! All in all, it was a pleasant evening and quite entertaining. Would definitely go again. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We had our Christmas Function at Lone Star last Saturday and the food and service was exceptional. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, kept checking we were all fine for drinks and if we needed anything. We had a party of about 20, everyone commented on how tasty the food was and so well presented and all went home very happy with the whole night. The food was amazing and the staff, including Neeve and Tom who were both totally stellar, were absolutely awesome. My husband and I had a lovely meal and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. No vegan options, even after calling to confirm. We went to dinner a friend group. Rang ahead of time to confirm there were vegan options for our friends. When ordering the server was confused we would request a vegan meal. Said there were no options then offered to ask the chef. Came back and offered hot chips. The only vegan meal (hot chips) were very below average with no salt. Also, the only drink our friends ordered, weren’t available after all the drinks had come out. Poor service. We felt like the server wanted us to leave due to the diet requests. Bad experience. Even though our meals were okay. Will not be coming back unfortunately. This is a family favourite of ours to dine at. Unfortunately, our experience this evening was not okay. My daughter and I stood in human faeces in that bathroom. We alerted the staff and were offered one drink on the house as an apology. However, we had to spend the rest of the evening in bare feet and will be ending our evening cleaning these shoes at home. We anticipated the service to be on point from there, but were disappointed. Our three children had to wait 40 minutes for their mud slide desserts. During this time, the youngest fell asleep and didn’t get to eat his. This was especially disappointing since we were there to celebrate him. When settling our bill (in full) no further compensation was offered and the manager was also no where to be found. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Walked in with no reservation and was welcomed like home seated super quick, bailley at front desk was lovely and super welcoming we really felt at home. The food was fast and brilliant and service was great. Thank you to bailey and lone star team for making our experience one of the best experiences we have ever had with any restaurant before.
