Great place all around always had a great experience at this establishment. The smoked brisket is the best around the cowboy beans are great smoked with the meat with bacon and brisket added. Warm comfortable atmosphere a welcome sight in these times. I highly recommend this place it's a textbook example of how supporting local businesses works and mass produced McDonald's/taco bell is a blight on the local economy.

Our first experience to our “local” bar on a Saturday night & I couldn’t believe how horrible this place was and the lack of caring, enthusiasm by its staff. The website says open until 11pm, we arrive at 7pm and they greet us by saying “order quickly because the kitchen is closing”. We don’t even get a drink and a woman comes out and says “Linda (the owner) called and said she’s not paying the staff to stay open “. I was excited to find a place close to home but it’s obvious that Linda has no idea what she is doing. Do yourself a favor and pass on this dump. Linda (the owner) apparently is not interested in my $100 of food and drink that I was prepared to pay to watch Michigan vs MSU. Best of luck with your business but I’d rather order from a vending machine.

Friendly outgoing weight staff. The salmon dip was served warm which was delightfully surprising, great bold flavor served with warm garlic toast. Their brisket was slightly dry but it was the last one of the day. I feel there is a missed opportunity considering that they have a smoker in the front but serve the brisket with bottled barbecue sauce. I forgot to take a picture but The brownie and ice cream was delicious.

Never open when they advertise they are it's a hit or miss half the time they don't answer their phone you would think with all their overpriced food they would at least be eager to sucker you out of your money and answer the stupid phone why do these people have it posted as being open but you don't know you have to drive all the way there to see if they're open because just because they don't answer the phone doesn't mean they're not open and you can never assume that they're open just because they advertised as being open this place really sucks since it got taken over Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

It was very loud. It was very crowded. Our waitress forgot about us . The service wasn't great. But mostly, so many things we tried to order from the menu were not available. Not a super comfortable dining experience for us. The food we did get was well done and tasted good. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

They have a limited menu right now but everything on it is *amazing*. This place is "Grass Lakes best kept secret" in my opinion. Try the Ribs, Wings, Brisket or Pulled pork sandwiches, tuesday is taco day, wed-sat they usually have smoked burgers and bourbon dressed meatloaf dinners, and if you haven't tried their sides; smoked broccoli, pineapple coleslaw, cornbread, smoked beans or mac and cheese theyre very, very good, and a very reasonable price. They also sometimes have other sides like garlic mashed potatoes and cheesy potatoes. They have vegan/gluten free options if you call ahead, and can sometimes make (accommodation)hotdogs for the kids. And they have newly rennovationated seating areas, indoor and outdoor.

Deep in the sleepy little area of Portage lake (grass lake) you'll find this great restaurant. Plenty of parking, cold beer, and a great pulled pork sandwich after a day at the lake is nothing to take lightly. However it doesn't stop there. Say your camping close by and you want some food for you and your guests by the fire, this wondrous place sells pulled pork, slabs of ribs, and brisket by the pound. Get yourself a couple pounds of brisket to sit at your site with your family or even as quick meals for the weekend. Now, I know what you're thinking. Ok great restaurant, but what else they got? What sets them apart? Great outdoor seating, good music, games for the family, drinking games for your table, my little ones even got a prize from the waitress for finishing their food! Name another place that does that! We'll be going back for 3 day weekends just for this place. The prices weren't bad either especially for the kids. Grilled cheese and fries was $5. A small bowl of mac and cheese for the baby was $3. Can't beat that. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

Our experience here was awful! It took 2 hours before we got our food! When we finally got it the coleslaw was warm, the nacho cheese looked like it had been setting out for a while, the fish tacos looked like something from a second rate dive, they forgot one of our sides and when we asked for it the waitress wasn't even sure they had it. The waitress serving our table spent more time behind the bar than taking care of us! When we tried talking to them about how unsatisfied we were with the service they gave us attitude. So we walked out before even getting a chance to eat our meals. We will definitely not be going back, and recommend you pass on this place. Not worth your time!
