Love the atmosphere and decor! The food and service were lovely. Went in for a late dinner to celebrate an engagement and the ambiance was very intimate. We had the fried oysters, mixed vegetables, duck confit and beef short rib. All the dishes had an abundance of flavor! Had a really nice dinner here with amazing service from a charming waitress. From being greeted by the host & taken to our table, to the soft lighting, muted decor and family style seating—you get elevated cozy vibes in an elegant & classic setting. We loved the view of the kitchen & being able to see the chef & his team so diligently at work crafting all of the meals. We were just a bit peckish, so after being taken through the menu by our waitress we opted for lite fare as you can see. Though light it was the perfect portion size and made for a very enjoyable evening & nosh with hubby. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Wow! What an amazing experience at Le Clou I had on Sunday night(9/3). I’m from out of town and was in DC for some solo traveling and decided to try this restaurant. First off, staff was super friendly. It was just me but I did make a reservation just in case since it was restaurant week. I highly recommend a reservation regardless. My server was Juan who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He recommended some great dishes for me and also some great cocktails. The food was fresh and so delicious. I enjoyed small dishes rather than large ones. I wanted to really taste and enjoy what I ordered and I felt ordering a large dish would end my experience. Overall, I spent 3 hours here conversing with the staff and just admiring the interior of this beautiful restaurant. One of my favorites was the cheese Tray which included some nuts, strawberry jam and a cherry jam. So good. Honestly, everything here was great. Service was immaculate. For restaurant week, service was quick and efficient. I wasn’t trying to rush anyone either since I was here to enjoy the experience. Rushing it by demanding super fast service ruins that experience. Clou meaning: Noun. clou (plural clous) Something which holds the greatest attention; the chief point of interest. Food has great presentation but is by no means a destination restaurant as in it was quite far for a dinner. Luckily I got to check this off the try list as I had a concert in Ivy city later that night. There is no parking at the morrow hotel other than valet service which was unfortunate. I like the decor of the restaurant. Shout out to Juan for taking care of us. Service Dine in Price per person $100+ Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Le Clou Omelet

Cannot wait to do Le Clou all over again!! Absolutely stunning decor and we were greeted by the personally selected bottle of Champange the Som helped me select to kick our night (he even chose a corresponding mocktail for myself) to the Cheese Trolly to put a bow on the evening, every morsel was delightful. Key highlights - The fried oysters (yes - we got 2nds & 3rds...that good!), the leaks, OMG their play on escargot was a treat for all, Ceviche (literally the most amazing acid), salt cod, onion tartan, onion soup....so much deliciousness! I had the Steak & Frites....definitely past the Med Rare requested, but the Bernaise was perfection. The drink selections were on point across the table with guests who loved their take on a dirty martini and a bunch of other tasty creations. From a mocktail perspective, the Kambucha one was beyond yum! They also surprised our Birthday Gal with a personalized Chocolate Covered Strawberry display! Purely a magical touch!!🍓🍓 Also - no visit here is complete without a Champs or Cider order from the Champagne Trolly or taking in the most beautiful Moet Vending machine in the hotel lobby! 🍾🥂 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Wellfleet Oysters
Elegant space. I ordered the trout and it was terrific. Got comped a glass of wine as they were a bit slow in getting to me. That's the right thing to do, but a gesture increasingly unseen these days. And, guilty pleasure, I had some frites on the side. And they were great. Would definitely return. D.C. is a ultra-competitive restaurant scene, where you can lose a customer as easily as you gain one. They gained me. Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Overall, the experience was decent, but it just isn't a top restaurant choice for us. We believe it can be worth a try if you haven't been or enjoy French cuisine. Details of our visit are below: My partner and I visited on a Saturday night, and it wasn't very busy, but the service was a bit slow and the restaurant seemed understaffed. Despite this, our waiter, Juan (who was also the bartender) did an excellent job serving us even though he was extremely busy. The drinks were a little but underwhelming, and my partner ordered a beverage from the mocktail menu, which was served as an alcoholic beverage. The team corrected this and brought the correct drink, and went so far as to offer me a complimentary glass of champagne and take the drink off the bill to make it right, which was much appreciated. The escargot appetizer was a little bit disappointing to us, but it was our first time trying such a dish. We didn't like the earthy taste, but we also aren't sure if that's just how it tastes anywhere. We ordered the Canard and Steak Frites for our main courses, and both were delicious! It definitely made up for our mistake in selecting an appetizer. The slow service prevented us from ordering a dessert, as our meal took about an hour and a half to that point and we were just ready to head home. Service: I think I just went at a bad time. The whole dinner took about 3 hour. it definitely could have been 1.5-2 hours if orders were taken more promptly and if the food came on time. I went for restaurant week, and you could tell the kitchen was very backed up. The restaurant is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, but we had several mix ups that were frustrating at times. Food: The steak was pretty bad, and the fries looked like they came from a fast food restaurant. Would not recommend the steak frites. However the appetizer, soup, and dessert were heavenly. Overall, I would recommend but not during prime dinner hours or other potential times when the restaurant may be busy. Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
Tucked away adjacent to the lobby of the Morrow hotel by Union Market, this single space, open-plan French restaurant is a gem. Cocktails and wines are well curated and crafted. The menu is full of traditional French finds but are elevated in one way or another. For example, escargot are served atop a flaky buttery biscuit-type pastry drowned in salted garlic and pastery butter. It's heaven! Other menu stars were the Trout Almondine, the Crudité platter and the French 75 cocktail. Go for the incredible food, stay for the impeccably designed interior (those chairs and that fabulous Verde colored menu cover 😍!!), people watching, and the traditional cheese cart. You won't be disappointed. Service was a misssed mark on this visit. It appeared our server was being trained and many things were forgotten and the timing of courses was odd. They comped our first round of drinks to make up for their 30 minute delay. I'm looking forward to coming by again when I'm sure service will be wonderful. Got the breakfast there. Ordered the duck hash. It was pretty well cooked duck. Felt that the seasoning could be better but the dish was well worth the price. The service was impressive and classy. The servers were always available. The dish took a bit of time to arrive which was probably the only minus in service.
