I was recommended this place by a Mexican guy I met in the photography museum down the street - and it was totally delicious! I had chips and guacamole and some eggplant dish. I loved that it came with so many different types of salsa and tortillas. It was too much food for me and I was able to take some home. There are some other vegetarian/vegan options available, too! I’ve been here 4 out of the 5 days I’ve been in Oaxaca and tried something different every time. It is all fantastic, some of it mind blowing. The bad reviews I see here about the service. While it is not Michelin star, it’s not terrible (they are always busy and the staff looks like it is working very hard) it helps to be assertive and that’s not why you come here. You come here because they are open most of the day, the rice and beans will change your life and the beer is cold. Price per person $100–200 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Our walking tour guide recommended this place. The food was good but nothing mind blowing like some reviews are saying. However, the worst part is the service. We’ve been in Mexico for over a week and haven’t found good service really anywhere but this was a new low. It’s like they were trying to be rude. The waitress was looking away while we were asking her questions. Everything was slow. The plate I was given to eat my meal had a somewhat rounded bottom so every time I cut my food, the plate tilted. Not sure if this was on purpose but was very annoying. Delicious food, great music and atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for an authentic vibe and traditional Oaxacan dishes, this is the best spot.

This place has been found, folks. Mostly a tourist experience. We found the plate of various appetizers (or entradas) interesting and tasty but the rest of the items were just good. The tamarindo juice was nice and the servers were very friendly and helpful. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table at a time when they seemed to be at their busiest. Some of our favourite tacos in our 3 weeks in Mexico! Definitely recommend this easy, relatively cheap and really tasty menu, in a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. We were still thinking about it weeks later.
