I've been going to the Palms for such a long time and never went to this place before. I had a $50 Comp , so I decided to give it a try. I got there before it opened at 4pm and was able to look at the menu to get an idea of what I wanted to order before hand. The hostess sat me right away of course since I was the first one and I chose a table instead of the bar since it was just myself. The decor is very nice and a little dark which I actually like. The bar is very elegant looking with a ton of tequila.
To start they bring you out water in like an old milk glass like when they used to deliver to peoples houses in the 40's. You also get chips and salsa , kind of mild one. I guess they used to give you a couple different ones , but now you only get the one. I ordered the Enchiladas Blancas - pulled chicken / salsa verde crema / manchego / asadero cheese / red onion / sour cream / guacamole / cilantro. I got mine with no onions and no guacamole. I also got the Chicken Tacos - grilled chicken / refried beans / romaine / pico de gallo / housemade corn tortilla. It also came with beans and rice and a green chili verde sauce with avocado in it. I'm not much of an avocado guy but this sauce was really good on the chicken tacos.
The refried beans were so good ! I could just come here and have a beer with refried beans and chips. They are a winner. Everything was good , no complaints. I also had a Mexican Coke which are $6. The prices of the food is a little on the high side , but since I had a comp it didn't matter to me. With tax it would have come out to around $49.00 . There was a few people that came in around the same time I came in so the server had a few tables to wait on. She was pretty good and also other workers came by to check on us and bring us food. I think I even spoke with one of the managers coming by asking how everything was. I would recommend coming here , especially since most of the restaurants in the Palms are not very good. The Cafe is really not worth going to except for the T-Bone Steak Special or the Ribeye. I've had a lot of things on their menu and would not recommend you wasting your time going there.

La Popular is the new Mexican restaurant in the Palms Casino. It is very trendy and modern with traditional decor throughout. It is very big and there is a huge bar in the center of the restaurant.
Also they have an enclosed glass dining area which borders the pool, it looks very cool.
The food is truly authentic serving popular Mexican dishes. It is very flavorful and fresh.
Great taste and great quality of ingredients.
Whatever we have ordered it was amazing, but our favorite is definitely Al Pastor enchiladas and Al Pastor tacos.
They have a great selection of cocktails as well and they are very strong.
The service is excellent, our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
Overall we had a great experience and great time dining at this authentic Mexican restaurant.
Highly recommend and definitely will be back!

Quick review : The food was pretty good. It's not excellent, but up there. Service was a little awkward but tolerable. Decor was nice, but I had some issues.
Long review : party of 3. Half of the table was in a booth, and the other half sticks out on the floor and has chairs. Felt a little strange at first but didn't have anyone bumping into the back of me, so I guess it wasn't all that bad, but I would have liked a table with a full booth. I guess it's really meant for couples and not really parties. The server was a younger guy. It was not horrible, but he seemed a little new. I'm not trying to knock him for trying, but it just felt awkward. He didn't seem comfortable with himself. Not a big deal because he was definitely trying, and that's more important than a server that is too full of their self and has a bad attitude. But it just didn't seem to match the fact that they seem to cater to couples like I just mentioned. Anyways, on to the food.
We got the chips and salsa (which took a while to come), but it was this burnt tasting Chipotle sauce. Wasn't a very big portion, but probably why they gave it so late. We added the guacamole with pork chunks in it. Decent. I opted for the shrimp fajitas. Most places I've been to the fajitas come out sizzling, but this was not. It came with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole. Shrimp was pretty good, but the peppers for the fajitas were al dente. I'm used to soft and sizzling. Edible, though.
Overall, it was good but not great. I do like that I was able to use my players card for comp. That made it great! Covered by food comp.

I was craving mexican food and decided to pop into “La Popular” at the Palms. Unfortunately, all the dishes lacked flavor and seasoning and fell well short of my expectations.
The biggest disappointment were the chicken and Al Pastor tacos, which, I found to be extremely dry.
The Ahi Tostada unlike other establishments was served in slices atop the tostada and not in cubes, as I’m accustomed to seeing. This was a pleasant surprise and quite unexpected.
My server Noelle (trainee) did a good job on her first day and didn’t appear to be overwhelmed with handling the tables.
The overall vibe of the restaurant was good and it was nicely decorated. However, I don’t believe I’ll be back anytime soon.

As someone with Mexican roots, particularly from Mexico City, I was excited to try a restaurant that originated from there.
The food at La Popular was nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend trying the al pastor enchiladas; they were a burst of flavor and a true delight for the taste buds. The ribeye fajitas were also a hit - perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful.
What truly set this dining experience apart was the exceptional service. From the friendly hostess who greeted us warmly to the attentive waitstaff, every aspect of the service was top-notch. When the food is great, that's one thing, but when combined with such excellent service, it elevates the entire experience to another level.
I can't wait to return to La Popular, and I'll definitely be telling my friends and family to give it a try as well. This restaurant has won me over with its delicious cuisine and outstanding service. I'll be back for sure!

Wagyu Steak Fajitas with Cheese Potatoes
I visited this spot twice in one week with my husband because the food and drinks were so good. If you like fresh tacos and delicious cocktails this is a place you should try. The Al pastor tacos were my favorite. The meat was so tender and the house made tortilla took the taco over the top. They provide chips and salsa upon being seated and these were literally the best salsas I have ever had. The presentation of the the salsa is really cool too. It’s not just one type of salsa they actually bring out 4 different types ranging from mild to really hot, but they’re all very tasty. At both visits we had really good service, thank you Jamie and Bailey! They were very attentive and offered great suggestions for what to try.

Al Pastor Tacos
I was very excited to see a new restaurant open at the Palms and had to check this place out while in Vegas. I sat at the bar and ordered the Yucatán Toucan (the skull drink) and the Creamy Prawn Tacos. They brought out a huge complimentary plate of dips and chips which were fresh and delicious. The tacos were excellent as well, I loved the crispy tortillas. I was completely stuffed the food is very filling. Great friendly service, I will be back for a full sit down dinner soon!

Edited to down grade... I came back to give this place a second chance. I got something way different than my last visit and my family too (sort of). Family said the food wasn't as good and the red enchiladas was disgusting. It was tooooo different. Thankfully the staff was really nice to replace both of the enchiladas plate. But my daughter's chicken green enchilada was better tasting. But one thing I was really surprised about was the Tres Leches😋. It was out of this world! The best I ever had! The Tres leches, the appetizer menu and the cocktail menu, the staff and decor is the only good thing about this place.
From getting sitted to the end everything was good. Service was awesome and food presentation was great. I love that there corn tortillas are made there. I gave it a 5 for service and atmosphere but they hit the mark on the food which I gave a 3 star. Out of all the meals my family and I got, we thought the nachos was the best. The food was a little flavorless though especially the tacos. Salsas were good and unique. Green salsa was my favorite The chorizo in my campechano tacos tasted a little sour so here I am thinking to myself its old??? I just ate one taco didn't finish my food because I didn't want to take a chance getting sick. Also I think it's a tad pricey. I' might come back and if I do I'm definitely trying something waaaaay different.

The margaritas are incredibly tasty and gourmet. They serve complimentary chips with an array of housemate salsas that range from mild to fire 🔥 😋 and the flavors are well balanced. It was so good that we came back that same night to try the tacos! I had the birria tacos with consomè to dip the taco 🌮 in, and again, the quality and flavors were noteworthy. We found this place on a Thursday, so it was calm and delightful. I wish incould remember the name of our bartender as we had this experience at the bar. Nonetheless, we will be going back again.

The chips and Burria tacos were exceptional, everything else was subpar, including the service. They had an extensive list of interesting cocktails, but they forgot to bring our drinks until we were almost done with our meal so we didn’t have the chance to try different cocktails.
