Very nice traditional Maltese food. We came is December and sat outside on the street, undercover with heaters. It was warm and atmospheric. The food was really good. I had the gnocchi with cheese and Maltese sausage and I was very happy. My wife ordered the swordfish ravioli and was also very happy with the dish. We recommend this place. There were plenty of diners so it must have a good reputation. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–25 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
I found the fried calamari to be too chewy and lacking in flavour (I know calamari is supposed to be chewy). The service was normal (i.e. not slow), although the person behind the cash register was smoking and it had to be pointed out to them that I wanted to pay. I don't mind, it seemed a bit odd but my experience with the staff was fine, but it might give credence to other reviews that have a negative experience with the staff. It's not a bad place to go to, but I also think you can find better food for better prices, even in Valletta. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Highly recommend trying the fish of the day. I tried sea bass and it was very delicious. The seafood tasted very fresh and the pasta dish was creamy & flavorful. We didn’t reserve a table but the guy who seems to be the manager was very friendly and managed to found a table for us. The waitress there was very friendly, too. Definitely a must try in Malta!! Might be one of the best food experience I had in Malta! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €30–35 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The food at La Pira was exceptional! I had dinner twice and everytime has been delicious. I was actually annoyed with myself I couldn't come here to have my last dinner before I flew back home. I will dream of those calamari fritti for long time. I had those pink ravioli (I can't remember the name!), the filling was so tender that it felt like chewing butter. I would also recommend Pulled rabbit rigatoni, very tender meat and delicious condiments. The product quality is consistently outstanding, exceeding my expectations every time and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended. I will definitely get back on my next trip to Valletta. We came without reservation and the manager was very kind arranging one table for us. Service was attentive, the atmosphere was great. And we enjoyed our food. We tried the local rabbit and pasta, all are great. Dessert was a bit too sweet. But overall a great dining place Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Tourist trap! The rabbit’s meat was too hard to chew and fish of the day was just average. The baby potato’s even burned 😇please skip this restaurant! I even think the sparkling water was the best food on the table. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–25 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

They were able to find us a table with no reservation which was good. Brought us out bread for the table but without olive oil/butter or salt to go with it. Tried the Traditional Rabbit stew. It was ok, the gravy had a strong base of pumpkin/carrot so wasn't able to taste the rabbit. The rabbit was cooked well but prob wouldn't be on my list to order again. The fried cheese was ok. 2 large pieces. The roasted potatoes only had the top layer roasted and the underneath ones were more steamed than roasted. All in all was ok. Gran servicio, comida típica del país con un sabor exquisito. Great service and deliciuous food. A great place to try Maltese food. It's worthy to spend some money and have a taste of the great local food. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €50+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Avoid this tourist trap. We ordered the rabbit. Just ok, and a bit dry. But also ordered calamari and squid ink Linguini. That was totally missing any squid ink. These guys just don’t know what they are doing. The waiter then said that some people think the squid ink is too overpowering and then brought us out some squid ink crisps. They just make it up as they go along. If you said squid ink pasta on the menu, you would’ve expected it will be black pasta! In the end the manager removed the dish from the bill. So at least he made up for the error, so I have to thank him for that. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
