Excellent food and great service.
Unfortunately on the first night I was only able to try one dish, the chicken curry, as they had run out of my starter choice (aubergine dip) as well as rice, which I thought odd at 8pm, but they gave me some nice toasted baguette with garlic. Curry sauce was not quite as good as I’ve found in thailand, flavour could have been a bit more intense but it was packed with chicken & veg and still delicious with the subtler flavour.
I came back the next night and was able to try three other dishes. The aubergine dip was fresh and one of the vegetables it came with was completely new to me which adds to the experience. Everything in the fish & chips dish was full of flavour, a herby tartare sauce, crispy seaweed (actually riverweed, from the Mekong), fresh mango salad… and then the banana fritters and ice cream, wow that blew me away!
Well worth a visit, if not more than one, especially given how they are supporting the community through education and vocation.

I'm so glad that we found this place before we left LP.
The teaching staff are doing an amazing job helping the students learn cooking and serving skills.
The food was well presented, interesting and delicious. The portion sizes were just right, nothing was wasted and we were not left hungry either.
If I were staying on in LP, I would look into the options to volunteer as well...next time!

I don't leave a lot of reviews, but I really, really wanted to for this place. The food is outstanding, I loved eating here. Seriously, I felt it was the best food I had in Luang Prabang. Good food speaks for itself, and I recommend you come here and form your own opinion of it.
Do be patient, they are a school and it is Laos, so being a grumpy foreigner is both rude and uncalled for. Be patient, kind, and polite, and it'll pay off. The food was GOOD.

Green Beans with Browned Butter Cashews and Lime
The food blew us away, I love that they have a small but very fine menu. We had the green curry, fish noodle and the pork stew as well as the most amazing dessert (we had both, the pandan pana cotta and the fried bananas and they were both amazing). Finally some real Lao taste, no Thai dishes. Service was superb and the profit for good concept is amazing!

Crispy Five Spice Pork Belly with Ginger Pumpkin Mash and Hibiscus Honey
This gem is actually a restaurant where locals train to become chefs or waiters. Staff can be identified by shirts as teachers or trainees.
The menu is short with just a few choices for appetizers/ main / dessert.
The food is phenomenal, in flavor as well as presentation!
We enjoyed Laksa, green curry, and green beans (see menu photo). The panna cotta dessert was flavorful without tasting of sugar and with a perfect consistency.
This place is fully booked most evenings, wait time can be an hour otherwise…

Fish and Coconut Laksa

We tried the coconut laksa and the fish and chips, both tasted really good. The portions might seem a bit smaller and pricier but you can tell a lot of thought goes to what is put on the plate. It was nice to support a good cause and the service was top-notch 😌

Absolutely wonderful place! They support local kids by teaching them culinary arts and general life skills. The food was flavorful and all Lao dishes. I had the Mekong fish laksa with coconut milk and banana blossoms, it was delicious!

This is a vocational training restaurant for marginalized youth, which makes everything even more “wow”. They even teach English classes upstairs.
The students are extremely cute, polite and professional.

Honestly, I don’t understand why it’s such a demanded place. Food was a real 3/5. Not tasty, not special, nothing. I guess, many people like it because of the price (very cheap — 15$ for two with one glass of wine). Service also needs to be more attentive and educated. Atmosphere also absent.
Overall, don’t get excited if you are an experienced foodie, better look for other places near by.

We loved it here ! We came 3 nights out of our 4 in Luang Prabang because it was so nice. Not only is it a great cause, but the service, atmosphere, and food is excellent. The teachers and students do such a great job. The food was just delicious, traditional Lao food. I think we tried almost everything on the menu. Everything we ate was good so hard to recommend one dish over another. However saying that you must get the Green beans as a side dish too as absolutely delicious. Also the pandan panacotta dessert was amazing. I would book as they are constantly having to turn people away as early as 7pm. Best little restaurant - enjoy 😊
