Great fish & chips! Fish was fried nice and golden, super crunchy with a nice touch of herb seasoning in the batter. Wow I'm saddened by how disappointing the food was, we were going off the great reviews from people who live in the area. We'll we won't be going back there again, we ordered 2 fish, 2 crab sticks, 4 scallops and a scoop of chips. $5 dollars for a scoop of chips that didn't even look like a full scoop, the crab sticks were sadly not very nice and the batter on them was just weird. The fish was good and the scallops were okay, the chips were soggy and overall was very greasy and for the price of it we definitely won't go back again. Would love to have their email address so I can speak to the owner directly.... this is the best place I ever been to, the fish was so fresh, and everything cooked perfectly, I don't care if the cashier would get snippy, this is the best place I have ever been too! Stopped for lunch on our road trip, had read many good reviews so thought we would try it. Definitely one of the best fish and chip shops we have ever been to. Big pieces of fish, large battered sausages and two very generous scoops of curly fries. Perfectly cooked, not too oily or greasy. Fast and friendly service, now definitely on our list of must stop and eat places.

Been in waihi 8 years and love our fish in chips here ! Best fish ever not greasy..nor the chips..nor the burgers.. Quality food and amazing staff that are on their game and love their locals ! Had a delicious mouth watering meal from here a few nights ago, wanted to go again. Tried tonight, said open on google, open sign on footpath, closed sign at door, most other places are open...clearly says 12pm to 8pm on sundays. At the time most people are wanting dinner. Was excited to enjoy their food , guess not. Perhaps it would be better if the open times were more organised. Were really looking foward to their fish and chips Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We had caught some beautiful fish today, it had been fileted but needed rinsing we asked the person behind the counter if they cooked fish bought in, he said yes then approached the woman working there she said yes they could cook our fish at $25 per kg. She then picked a piece up asked has this been salted we said no it needed to be rinsed. She was clearly annoyed and reacted like it was a nuisance for her. This woman should have responded in a pleasant manner, if she didn't want to do it fine she should have said so. We were going to buy quite a few other things. I will never go back in there again and I certainly won't be slow telling others. If I could give a zero star rating I would but I can't and the young person at least had a pleasant attitude.

dropped in on my way through one afternoon for a snack... the fish burger was so massive I didn't need dinner! generous helping of curly fries, fed two of us. very happy, if I lived in waihi I would be eating here regularly! highly recommended. thank you!
