Great coffee shop to have local food for breakfast. The coffee shop is very busy during breakfast time but there are staff members to manage the queue which clears rather quickly. You order drinks and nasi lemak at the counter from the boss who is very friendly. The coffee, butter kaya toast amd half boiled eggs are very good; so are the nasi lemak, nonya laksa and Sarawak kolo mee. There are also stalls selling yong tau foo and chicken rice. We didn't try them but they look good. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person RM 1–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Nyonya Laksa

Reviews of the uncle being unfriendly are totally overblown. There is a queue but it moves pretty quickly. Coffee was good. Toast came with a thick slice of butter. Curry laksa was very flavourful! Overall very satisfying breakfast. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This eatery is the highlight of my entire trip. Open from 7am - 2pm, Xiang Jiang serves up one of the best traditional Hainan coffee, paired with perfectly toasted Kaya butter toast. Kopi was thick (gao) and you can taste the self roast aroma of the beans, if you love traditional Nanyang style coffee, this is not to be missed. Rated: 9/10 Kolo mee is another not to be miss item on the menu. Noodles is chewy topped with crispy pork lard and meat sauce. A must have! Another dish from same store to order is their chicken feet. I’m not a fan but my peer who tried exclaimed it’s 10/10, I have my doubts but I’ll give it to him. Rated: 8/10 Laksa was another dish we ordered but for Singaporeans who love and used to the lemak taste of coconut milk, you can give it a miss. The laksa here is cooked just with laksa paste and assam, it lacks that punch and didn’t cut it for us. Only plus point was the cockles that came with it, very fresh and nice. 6/10 Yong Tau Fu disappointed us with the soup it served with - almost tasteless when it should have been sweet from all the cooking. The taupok and everything else ordered was ok, we have had better YTF for sure hence not a must try. 6/10 One thing to note is all the food are through different stores so the plan is best to Q for drinks and toast prior to moving on to the rest. The best Kolo Mee I've ever had. Noodles were qq and flavour was perfect. The drinks were really good too esp soy milk in a bottle and teh c. Fried yongtofu sides always great. My mum loves the laksa here too. Its different from your average laksa so its probably down to personal preference. You'd either like it or don't. Roti bakar and soft boiled eggs are a must too. Queue is always long but moves quickly. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person RM 20–40 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Special Sauce Dry Kuey Teow

If you are looking for local food for breakfast or lunch and want variety in one place, come here! It's crowded during peak hours, but there is a system which helps you get seated efficiently. It caters to larger groups and even individual diners. The kaya butter toast is authentic. It's well-toasted and not overly crispy. The kaya is sweet and contrasts well with the slightly melted salted butter, which makes for a great experience! The soft boiled eggs are cooked perfectly too. Slurp it all up, or dip the toast in it! The iced coffee is strong and fragrant and not overpowering. 2 kaya butter toasts, 2 eggs and 1 iced coffee cost $12. We also tried the wanton kolo mee and braised chicken feet. The wanton mee was fragrant and tasty even though it looks plain. There was generous serving of 4 braised chicken feet and 1 mushroom. They were braised till the meat fell off easily from the bones. The gravy is slightly spicy and not too salty. Wanton mee and braised chicken feet cost $13. Not the cheapest around, but still worth it. Other stalls include chicken rice, Laksa and prawn mee and Yong Tau foo. Once you reach the place, a friendly uncle will usher you to a free table. Went there for breakfast at 10am+ for 2 days out of our 4 days trip because the food was that good. Kolo mee + Nyonya laksa the best. Yong tau foo also fried till crispy. Drinks were nice too. 10/10 must try. Affordable prices too. The perfect place to have traditional coffee and tea as well as a variety of local food! To me, they have the best coffee in Melaka 💯😍 This place has been a local fav for decades and recently blew up on social media, hence attracting many tourists. However kudos to the owners for being able to ensure high quality food and beverages. Recommended: 1. butter kaya toast - super THICC butter and fragrant kaya in the middle of 2 slices of white bread toasted over charcoal 🔥 2. kopi / cham beng - also THICC with strong coffee taste 3. laksa & prawn mee - flavourful! 4. kolo mee - full of taste of pork lard, say no more 5. homemade yong tau foo Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person RM 1–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Nyonya Laksa

Having grown up in a small town myself, I really love traditional coffee shops like this one. Despite it being a holiday when we visited and the place being crowded, the queue system was efficient and we didn't have to wait too long for a table. The uncle in charge of seating was also very friendly. We ordered a few dishes from different stalls, as well as half-boiled eggs and toast. The Sarawak Mee was the standout for me, it was really delicious, while the others were just average in my opinion. The coffee was also average in my opinion, but if you want to experience a traditional local coffee shop, this is the place to enjoy your breakfast.
