The trout was dry and cud have been more seasoned to taste but overall had a great experience eating here on our tour to Zakopane . Our guide suggested this authentic polish place. We spent 3 wonderful days in Zakopane, and since my daughter fell in love with pierogi during our previous visit to Poland, I sought out a restaurant where we could enjoy this delicacy - and fortunately, we stumbled upon Czarczi Jar on our second day. The interior is delightful, with sturdy, comfortable tables, benches, and chairs. The stone-clad walls and winter snowflake decorations create a beautiful atmosphere, complemented by the fireplace and the slightly smoky scent in the air. The reception and service were both very welcoming, and we were able to communicate with the waitstaff in English. We loved the food and the entire place so much that it was clear to our entire party of 6 that we wanted to have lunch here the next day as well. We enjoyed incredibly tasty soups, sampling three different kinds, as well as the divine pierogi. The breaded pork cutlet prepared in the Bojar style and the enormous BBQ rib were just as exceptional. We regretted the brevity of our time in Zakopane, but if we return, we will definitely revisit Czarczi Jar! Many thanks for the experience, the delicious food, and the kind service. We are a Singaporean couple and we absolutely loved the food here! Best food we've had in Poland and Slovakia in the past 5 days. We had the spinach dumplings, mushroom soup, potato pancakes and goulash, sausage (kielbasa) and horseradish and their homemade lemon vodka schnapps. Great ambience, tasty food! My first time here and I was amazed by the interior and service. Crew is very welcoming and smiling. Be mindful while ordering as the portion size was too big for me 😉 I ordered soup and a mian dish and honestly couldn't even eat half of the main dish. It was very delicious as I orderd królik (rabbit) and it was very cooked. Highly recommended! Very nice restaurant focused on local cuisine. Unusual national dishes that you won't find in a regular place, but all delicious. Also a very nice village atmosphere, and sometimes with live music. We've been here a few times with the family while on a ski vacation in Zakopane, and were never disappointed. Not very expensive, we've paid about £20 per person for a three-course dinner. The only annoyance is a function of its popularity - the wait times at the door can be quite long sometimes, so best to book in advance. We were so satisfied with this place,that during our stay in Zakopane we returned twice. Very nice menu, excellent dishes, generous portions, and the fact that the staff is extremely kind and helpfull is just an extra. The restaurant has a very nice and unique atmosphere,the open fire and the "tiny house interior" is really catchy. The mutton pierog is a miracle here. Looking forward to come back to this place. Beautiful and warm atmosphere, delicious food, very friendly staff and reasonable prices. Not to mention that they have great vegetarian options. One of the best restaurants in town. Housed slightly outside of the center of Zakopane is this little gem. With super traditional polish food (from the soups to the mains to the bread with lards!) to the atmospheric setting- this place has it all. Based next to a little stream the log cabin feel creates a perfect setting for this place. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend a visit when in Zakopane. A place not to be missed.
