JJ´s Cantina is not just a great place to enjoy fantastic music but great food... I can say, any day is a good day to enjoy a delicious breakfast at JJ's Cantina THE ORIGINAL, which opens at 8 in the morning. Although the menu isn't too extensive, each option is delightful. Barbara Lounsbury, Clarence Jackson, and I enjoyed the various choices and tried a bit of everything.
Clarence ordered a Shrimp and Avocado Omelette: A 3-egg omelette stuffed with locally caught shrimp and Mexican cheese, topped with 'pico de gallo' and fresh avocado, served with breakfast potatoes and seasonal fruit.
Barb ordered the 'Hangover Special': 3 eggs, chorizo, bacon, breakfast potatoes, beans, and locally made flour tortillas.
And as for myself, the only Mexican in the group, I ordered the 'Gringo Breakfast': 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, crispy bacon, sourdough toast, and seasonal fruit.
I also ordered a jalapeño margarita, which is truly a delicious and unique experience. A great but unique gastronomic adventure!
Of Course our friend Waylon Michael Dillon was there always paying attention to our needs, was just incredible!

Amazing spot right in Cholla Bay. The fish tacos are amazing and the view out back is excellent. They have live music and seating by the ocean. The inside bar is really nice as well! Wrecked at the Reef now owns this restaurant from what I heard. Service was very prompt and food/drinks came out quick. Highly recommend checking this place out! Will definitely be back again next time!
Wonderful experience at JJs Cantina. If you’re in Rocky Point, drive a few minutes west and check out JJs on Cholla Bay. Very good food and wonderful view right on the bay! I’ll be back again soon.

Pretty cool place. Touristy, but cheaper than other tourist places in Peñasco. There’s a very cool rocky area with people swimming in the right tide and the pangas are coming in and out with their daily catch (including giant snails), which is really fun to watch if you like that king of thing. Fair service, but not the fastest.
The guacamole and salsa was AMAZING!!! Highly recommend.

Great fish tacos, reasonably good service. Great atmosphere. Loved sitting outside, watching the water and eating great tacos. The waiters were friendly but a bit slow to notice we needed more drinks and food. Once they realized it though they had the food/drinks out quickly. We will definitely be back.

Chula bay's hottest spot is upgraded with better food, music and a wonderful tiered patio. Not to worry, the old bar is still there but without the photos of the winners of the fishing tournaments.
JJ's spent a year remodeling adding all kinds of new things but not taking away any of the cool features of the place. Awesome bands playing during the day on a nice sized stage which is such a welcome change from most other places. Their forever motto is "You haven't been to Rocky Point if you haven't been to JJ's". I didn't see the attraction of this place at all, but it's now on my top 10 things to do when I have visitors. The dirt road getting there is awful but worth it!
The food and drinks were above average. The setting and being on the water was great. The town is west of the RP resorts and a cleaner & nicer than going east toward the No so good parts of town.
