I have loved Hy-Vee for many years, always clean and the employees are always friendly! However, their new pricing scheme leaves a lot to be desired. I never truly know what I'm going to be paying for my groceries, many items are improperly marked or it is required to have their premium membership to get the price and the tag does not always indicate as such. The wine in the attached picture has had the incorrect price on it for 2 months now. They always honor the price when called out on it but I'm not going to a grocery store to haggle pricing daily. I absolutely detest Walmart, but at least I know how much my bill will be at the checkout when I ring myself up.

Omg grocery Extravaganza! There's no hy-vee where I'm from and I think it's the biggest grocery store I've ever been in. With several different types of hot food a full service deli bakery and butcher. It's massive!

Decided it was worth driving the 30 miles to escape the stranglehold Walmart has on my sleep little town and it was SO WORTH IT! To see fresh meat being ground or cut to order, a bakery that did more than just unfreeze products and "bake" them! And they had FOUR different brands of dark rye/pumpernickel bread🍞 (our Walmart stopped baking it and/or selling it for the last 3 months and we wanted to have g-da#ned rueben sandwiches. Now we laugh when we do our infrequent trips to the corporate Walmart and their hyper-processed meats and sponsor driven product offerings. We know where we can shop like in the good old days. HyVee.
This is about the best Grocery Store / Supermarket that I have ever been to and believe me, I know the grocery store business! I love all the different departments and all the choices within each development! My compliment to the staff and management!!

Stopped here for a few specific items while visiting in the area. Delighted to find small containers of fresh fruit in the deli, as well as Panera Bread soups. Perfect for what we needed for a light meal. Customer service person was also helpful in exchanging quarters for my dollar bills due to a laundry emergency.

The prices were ok, the stock was good and the check-out girl was pleasant. So what's not to like? It took more than 20 minutes to get through the line, and there were only two people in front of me. One customer had a situation that required a manager, and he was busy at another register. It took several minutes for him to get to the line I was in, and after he finished he took off, no doubt to help in another area. But the person in front of me also needed a manager, so we waited again. I, too, had a purchase that required the manager and I saw him working at the far end of the store. Meanwhile, the very young and social checker seemed oblivious to the line behind me that had grown to six or seven customers, and she chatted idly away while doing nothing to signal Kade, the busy manager, to return to help her. Can there not be more than one person on duty authorized to resolve these common situations? Or, can there not be employees working the register who are of legal age to sell beer? The wait time was ridiculous.

I may have walked a mile inside the store, looking for everything but as always a store was clean as could be the shells were in good shape, and the staff was always ready to help if you need anyting. I ended up taking home to tenderloin sandwiches also because it was getting late in the afternoon, I brought them home and 93 year old mother and I enjoyed him very much.

Hy-Vee I use their pharmacy too. Best meat & cheeses around. Marginally pricier than other BigBoxStores

I prefer hyvee over most grocery stores however, they are astronomically more expensive than Walmart market on soft drink prices. I actually will not by my soft drinks, juice, or snacks at hyvee.
I like their produce it's always fresh. And their apple cinnamon bagels are to die for
