The sign was not lit up so it’s not visible until you’re on top of the restaurant. We were greeted right away with a friendly smile and the food came out quick. We ordered the appetizer platter, didn’t care for the chicken wings, the breading was weird, but everything else was fine and you nothing tasted greasy. We shared the Triple Kung Pao that was beef, shrimp and chicken. It lacked spice but the flavor was good. It came with a nice size bowl of white rice. Canned soda only. Staff was lovely. A quaint Chinese restaurant. Very friendly staff. We ordered the vegetable egg rolls, Buddha's delight, General Tso's chicken and the Hunan Lamb. It was all amazing! The egg rolls were full of flavor and crunchy, was not greesy. The wrapper was the thin spring roll wrappers which I love versus the thick eggroll wrappers. The Buddha's delight had a variety of vegetables and tofu. I personally would have loved more tofu. The General Tso's chicken was flavorful, chicken was crunchy and the sauce was rich. Saving the best for last is the Hunan lamb. My son ordered this dish but I ended up esting most of his. I personally am not a fan of lamb but this dish was a gamechanger. The lamb was thinly sliced and stir fried with scallions in their house sauce. I could taste the wok hai(char from the wok). I will definitely have this the next time I'm there. Ordered food to go but forgot to take photos. We had Singapore noodles (no egg, add tofu), and sesame tofu. Both were really good and the employee that took my order over the phone was helpful and patient. I’ll be back! I have been here a few times. The people are nice and so is the atmosphere. However, the food is extremely bland. Ordered hunan beef. There was zero spice or flavor. Rice tasted old and poor quality. After extensive research I have determined that this is the best Chinese takeout place in Bloomington. Since Fong's closed I was forced to find a new source for dangerously salty, heavily seasoned Chinese food. This is the place. I have yet to find something that I didn't like, but the lemon chicken was borderline. I recommend the Mongolian beef, Hunan lamb, Hunan chicken and pork lo mein. You can't miss. Everything was great. Food was hot and looked delicious. Lots of options. I got Buddha's delight. The tofu was very good in the sauce and lots of veggies. The chicken lo mein also had good sauce and variety of veggies. The sweet and sour chicken was also good. Not over cooked and lots of sauce! Don't leave near Hunan, so only go once or twice a year. Never been disappointed. The old owners made you feel like family. About a year ago, the new owners took it over from the previous owners. The food was about the same and the service was good, but not family good. :) Went back a few days ago. The guy that took care of us was exceptional. The food improved (sorry, old owners). The cook stopped by our table to check on the food. Possibly the best General Tso Chicken I've ever had. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
