After enjoying St. Mary's Catholic Church, it may be a nice idea to visit this bar. To order nicely cooked green chicken, chicken enchiladas and onion strings is a really good idea. You will like its food, especially good doughnuts. A collection of delicious draft beer, margaritas or wine is recommended to guests. You will hardly forget great lemonade, americano or ice tea that you can degust. Musicians make live music in the evening. We came here on the recommendation of the person at the front desk of our hotel, who made it sound fantastic. The food was middle of the road; nothing terrible about it but nothing noteworthy, except the brisket. My wife had the club sandwich. It was fine. The sides on the brisket were also fine. We had a basket of Parmesan chips, which were potato chips with Parmesan, salt, and pepper sprinkled over them. The cheese and spices didn’t adhere to the chips, so most of them were bland unless we dipped them in what fell off. Its a cool little spot to hang out and listen to some live local music. The bloody Mary and sliced brisket were decent. Also tried a margarita and the death burger. Delicious! My only complaint is that the death sauce had almost zero spice! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

This is a nice spot if you enjoy live music and want the full Western feel of the Wild West. I found it quite charming. Although we inquired about the best items on the menu, we ended up not choosing any of them, which was a mistake on our part. 🙄 I ordered the chicken fried steak with fries, while my friend opted for the BBQ sandwich. Both dishes could have used more seasoning; it was a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, I'm glad I experienced this spot and could cross it off my list! This mac & cheese was brisket was so good! We saw our neighbors enjoying this entree when we arrived and had to try it. Did not disappoint. Enjoyed the evening at the outdoor patio (with our pup). Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We ended up at Hondo's as a "plan B" after another restaurant we planned to dine at ran out of BBQ! There is both outdoor and indoor seating; we would have liked to be outside, but didn't want to wait. The indoor bar area seating has a lot of character. It felt like we stepped back in time a few decades. Food is ordered at a counter and picked up from another area; there is no table service. The food was decent -- notably good was the brisket Mac n cheese. I thought the brisket was better than the ribs. I had the Fajitaladas, which was an interesting mash-up of a dish. More of a bar rather than a restaurant. Had to stand in a line to order food and drinks and then had to stand in a line to pick it up. Brisket was over cooked and dry. Absolutely one of our favorite places to grab lunch while in Fredericksburg. There's not a bad thing on the menu. And the service is always friendly and inviting. Great food. You order and pay at the bar. They give you a pager for when your food is ready. You pickup you food at the kitchen. The restaurant is an old time saloon, with a small stage just like the old days. The place looks very old but incredibly comfortable. They have live music occasionally (not sure of the schedule) which happen to be when we were there. Guy playing a guitar again on character and very fun. The food was delicious. Brisket was slow cooked and juicy. Combined with their BBQ sauce made it perfect. My wife had fried chicken which she said was the best she's had. Don't forget the onion rings! Wonderful atmosphere……amazing Live Music is grand……. Food is average…..when they have it 😂😂 running out of all the good stuff is unacceptable. Staff is “unhappy”. I am sorry and they actually have to work and wish they would try to make the Customer experience fun or at least tolerable. The place itself is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. Drinks were good and they had an indoor and outdoor space with live music. However, the food wasnt very good. The Hondo Burger patty was too small for the bun. The Bun Ribbon burger lacked a nest of fried onions and was SMOTHERED in BBQ sauce. The fries were good but they are fries. The taste was OK but not worth the price. I'd go back for a drink but I'd eat somewhere else. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
