Wonderful Hawaiian food at very reasonable prices. The BBQ shortribs were fantastic - well marinated and tender. The chicken katsu was nice and crispy and the bbq chicken was solid. The BBQ beef was so-so. My two complaints were that the rice was a bit dry and the vegetables were watery and oily. Overall, we would definitely come back again.

This Hawaiian BBQ location is very cute inside with a very surfer Hawaiian vibe. The young man who helped me out was very friendly and made the experience that much nicer. It's very clean and pleasant inside and the menu is diverse as well as very affordable! I got these six pieces of vegetable pot stickers, but the name is different on the menu. Just can't remember it right now. It was only $5 for six pieces. The outside was very crispy and yummy, but the inside was bland. I had hoped they would have been homemade, but I believe it they were frozen. Nonetheless, I would give this place a try because of the great customer service, excellent vibe, and all the other wonderful items on the menu.

Decent meal at a decent prices. Was pleasantly surprised by the food. I had the shrimp which was nice and crisp. The rice was well cooked and overall it was a great stop.

Great place. I visit everytime I'm in town. The spam musubi is soon good! I always get the 2 or 3 item plate. Generous portions with sauces on the side. Rice and mac-salad always great. All food priced fairly. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes BBQ Chicken
Great authentic Hawaiian food. Reminded us of the Ono Hawaiian restaurant on Oahu. Huge, tasty portions and veggies were cooked fresh. They are customer friendly; allowed me to customize my own combo meal at no extra charge.
Ordered through DoorDash and was super disappointed. The chicken arrived boiled versus grilled. The chicken was white and heavily seasoned with pepper. It looked nothing like the pictures displayed on their site or even on previous customer reviews. I think they either had a new person on site or a careless person who was just trying to get this order out before closing.

Really nice portions. Surprised with how much they give you. Ordered 2 two-item plates (bbq chicken and kalua pork, bbq chicken and garlic eggplant). Reasonable price for the amount you get. Quality of food is great and fresh as well. Chicken is moist as well as the pork.

Hoku is an interesting place. They have a lot of what you'd expect from Hawaiian bbq, but there's a few things that are pretty unique, like the strawberry short ribs. Their fried rice is really stellar though so make sure to grab some of that. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

It was okay... I really like the to-go containers they use, very heavy duty. They have good portions, presented well but it was a little bland for my taste. The Macaroni salad was good but the batch we had was heavy on mayo, it comes with a few grilled veggies under the chicken which is great. But in my opinion the teriyaki sauce can make or break a place and well Hoku's hasn't mastered it yet... For whatever reason it reminded me of the smell of Nag Champa? Katsu chicken was good, chrunchy shrimp not so much... Give Hoku's a try and find a dish you like.
This was the first time for us going here. A good friend of mine tried it a while back and said it was terrible. I heard from another person that it was "ono". That's delicious in Hawaiian. After reading some reviews, I decided to give it a try. Well, after ordering the kalua pork and lau lau plate, and my wife having the kalbi plate (Korean bbq short ribs), the verdict is.....WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK! The Mac salad was near perfect, the kalua pork was very tasty and the lau lau was very good. For those who don't know, Lau lau is salted pork wrapped in taro leaves. The fat literally melted in my mouth (if you know, you know). My wife tasted from my plate and said she will order that one next time. Hoku's could benefit from a fountain drink machine. They offered can drinks and they also have a selection of smoothies. The customer service was also very good. Lots of young people working there and they were very polite. I can't wait to come back for my next Hawaiian food fix. I give Hoku's 4 shaka's 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20
