We were in Flemington for a travel soccer game and decided to eat here based on the reviews. We thought the food was good but the service was fantastic! Our waitress was a 10/10. Ordered takeout (we we hardly ever do) for a family of 4. Wait time was 20 minutes which was appropriate, I thought. We ordered 2 dinners. 1- a ribs with chicken and fries and the 2nd was a whole chicken with black beans and veggies. The amount of food was plenty to feed us and we ended up with some left for 1 other dinner, maybe even 2 small lunches. We had asked for our chicken to be well done. It was not. The veggies were nothing but boiled from frozen, not fresh; no seasoning what so ever and some were actually cold. I am a very good cook and hate to go anywhere that doesn't make a meal as good as I can prepare myself. Personally, I wouldn't go back. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

1st I have never commented on another review but a reviewer recently stated the owner is not Portuguese based on his race???? Come on man....really, enough said. Flemington BBQ offers large/huge portions of Portuguese comfort food. Nothing fancy, just simple very good food. Friendly service in a coverted gas station convenience store. Will definitely return. 2/22/2023 Update. Flemington BBQ continues to be a regular spot for our family. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. As we have explored the menu I must recommend all of the homemade soups that rotate on a daily basis. The staff is warm and friendly and make you feel like family. I was hesitant to try this place because the online menu does not provide much description but I am glad that I did because it was a great meal. I ordered the Chicken and Beef Cubes house style and it exceeded my expectations. Generous portions of beef and all white meat chicken perfectly grilled with some shrimp mixed in there as well. The meat was not dry, was not overly salty and had no sauce so the flavor of the meat came through perfectly. The protein was accompanied by yellow rice, some grilled peppers and onions as well as some pickled vegetables, black olives, a lemon wedge, french fries and gravy. I cannot speak to the authenticity as I have never had Portuguese food, but what I can say is that the ingredients were fresh, prepared with care and presented wonderfully. The addition of the pickled vegetables adds a nice crunch and texture to the meal. If you love charcoal grilled meats, appreciate fresh ingredients, generous portions and a clean and friendly environment I would recommend trying this place out. I know they opened during the pandemic and I hope they stick around for a while.

Home style Portuguese food. The soups are like mommas home cooking. House style Pork cubes, ribs, chicken... It's all yummy. I can't get enough of this place. Oh... The desserts! Some of the friendliest staff around. We stopped by on a whim driving back from new hope and weren’t disappointed. We had the beef and chicken cubes which came with a fantastic sauce. Their portions are very large and a full size will easily fill 3-4 people. Their orders due take a bit of time so I would recommend calling 30-40 minutes ahead.
