We really enjoyed our breakfast at The Figtree Bakehouse situated in the Timberlake Village. The setting under the trees was welcome on the hot day. We were told about their breakfast specials however both dishes were on their menu at the same price, so it was not really a special. The waiters were friendly and attentive. One if us had the breakfast wrap with scrambled egg, mushrooms and bacon served with a tomato relish which was very tasty and freshly made as with all their dishes. The other was the breakfast croissant with scrambled egg, cheese and bacon. This too did not disappoint taste wise, there were 2 scrambled eggs with grated cheese, however there was only 1 tiny rasher of bacon which was mostly fat, so that was somewhat disappointing. It's wasn't super busy so we enjoyed that. Overall a good experience. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person R 100–150 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Tomato Relish
The smell of freshly baked bread and coffee. If you prefer a breakfast with a difference. The Croissant breakfast is devine, and the fresh breakfast bowl delicious. Wash it all down with a well-made cappuccino and try a slice of creamy cheesecake Just love it here. 😀 Service Take out Meal type Brunch Price per person R 100–150 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Open Cubano Sandwich
Love the location. Nothing beats dining in nature for me. The zipline was cool to watch. The only thing was the smell hanging around - I'm not sure from what. The food was a bit unexpected. Some of the things didn't correlate with what it says on the menu, for example, the coriander mayo. Otherwise, the flavour was good, the ingredients were fresh, and it was super filling. The staff was cool, attentive, and accommodating. And the coffee was delicious. It was my first time, so hopefully, next time, it will be better. Simply a fantastic hidden gem tucked away in the Timberlake Village. They have fantastic service and the most friendly staff. We enjoyed delicious hot drinks and a variety of toasted sandwiches. If you're in the vicinity, I highly recommend taking some time out, and grabbing a bite to eat here! One of my favourite places to eat in the Garden Route. The portions are very generous, and you get incredible value for money. The bread is baked in the restaurant, and all ingredients are either home-made or local and organic. Plus, you can enjoy your meal underneath the trees. If I could, I would eat here every day for the rest of my life. Definitely worth the visit! What a hidden gem have I found?! Had the Caprese sandwich and it was absolutely amazing! The sourdough bread was so fresh it tasted like life. The balance of the basil, tomato and mozzarella was absolutely in perfect balance with each other and each flavour just hit the taste buds right. Good resturant. Good Americano coffee. Fresh bread bakry. Breakfast is good (especially Shakshukah breakfast). Reasonable prices. Open early in the morning (7:30 AM). Freindly staff. It has plenty of tables both indoor and outdoor. It is a good stop in the Garden Route between Wilderness and Sadgefield to sit, eat, relax, and enjoy the enviornment. The village is very nice for families with kids. There are a lot of stores in the Village near the figtree resturant.
The first time I went to Figtree, everything was perfect. I bragged about the place to all my friends. But I think I was just lucky the first time. Since that time, they never had their specialty sandwiches ready. Always an Excuse. I tried four times, and every time, an excuse. Now, it will only be a memory. A very nice bakery for breakfast. I have ordered Shakshuka and Turkish eggs, both were very good. Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
