This is a great small hotel. Rustic, quirky. But wonderful staff, clean, comfortable.
Excellent typical local food all from the attached farm.
Shower good, huge bed.
Wine made on the premises is not "world class", but is simply delicious and great for the food served.
The owner is very friendly and speaks excellent English. The staff less so, but they are so helpful, and the wifi is good so google translate sorted any possible communication problem.
Good local walks. Do see the cave monastery.
There is a visitable farm over the road, lots of animals and interesting features, would be great for the children.
All in all a fantastic experience, so I wouldn't hesitate to book there again.
5* all round.
Wonderful place to stay!
The rooms are traditional and clean, and a bonus is the swimming pool.
Anatole has a farm just opposite the restaurant where a lot of the food is produced. The rest is sourced from local people. He also makes wine for the restaurant.
He employs local ladies who cook their traditional dishes; we watched them working in the kitchen. In autumn they were busy too stocking up the underground store rooms with local specialties.
Breakfast and dinner were delicious, with huge portions.
Would absolutely stay again and would love to bring the Grandchildren.
Totally recommended for a traditional Moldovan experience!
If I could add 100 points for location, I would. I had all pool for myself yesterday. The Roses around the pool and the view of the rocks are breathtaking.
The bathrooms are perfect but the rooms are old, as they supposed to be, still they are clean. So welcome to explore the ways people lived in Moldova some time ago. Enjoy!
Very tasty traditional moldovan food made with high quality, local produce. Also has many vegan options, as some moldovan dishes are naturally vegan-friendly
Lovely place with a beautiful atmosphere. You can really feel the authenticity while at the same time being modern enough to be an amazing experience for anyone.
The food at dinner and breakfast were delicious, especially the apple pie which reminded me of my childhood.
If you visit Moldova you should definitely go to Butuceni and experience this lovely place and the surroundings.

A great place to try the moldavian national cuisine. Everything we ordered was amazing and authentic. Would definetely recommend and will return. Thank you!!
Felt the rustic atmosphere of the location, also really welcomed and very pleased with the location, the setup and the conditions. The food is made mostly with local, seasonal ingredients and very tasy. The breakfast is also freshly made, it felt like "my grandma" made the food. Really recommend, a good escape from the urban sites.
