The pIzza was good but the service was pretty much non-existent.
Having been keen to visit a Dolly Dimple's again now that the brand has been brought back, and remembering what they were like before, this was a less than fantastic experience. On an early Saturday evening when for the majority of our visit there were more staff behind the counter than there were seated diners in the restaurant, it would have been hard for them to have paid us less attention.
We ordered by mobile from our table as our questions at the counter when we entered about how the new Dolly's operated were not really answered clearly. The drinks were brought to our table fairly quickly, and the pizza after about 20 minutes. No knives, forks, or plates, and no indication if we could even get any, so we ate by using our hands. No member of staff acknowledged us from that point on, not even when we left the establishment.
By the time we departed, there were a few more sit-in diners, but most of the other people who came to the restaurant while we were eating had obviously ordered ahead and were picking up takeaways This probably explains the huge wall of empty pizza boxes being stored in front of the kitchen area, just inside the entrance door (hygiene ??) and the almost constant ringing of the mobile phone behind the counter.
As a person from the UK, I am very used to poor customer service, but I do hope that Dolly Dimple's are not taking lessons from the British in "how to ignore your customer as much as possible". Based on tonight's experience, I won't be hankering after another pizza from this emporium.
Last time I order from dolly, they need one hour to bake, the young personal completely inexperienced and super slow. Prefer to do it myself, not worth the money. Dolly is not what ut was before
Good pizza, speedy service and they dealt with a payment issue very quickly - my only suggestion is that a wider range of vegetarian pizzas would be great.
Came to pick my pizza up 2 minutes early. Told me to wait because they forgot to make it. Both of the workers were on their phones probably the reason they forgot about the orders.
