TL;DR: After discovering District Five along the beach, we were pleasantly surprised by its affordability. Our meal started with delightful cheesy garlic bread and fluffy bao buns. The highlight was the absolutely delicious tender pork ribs and pork belly paired with sweet apple sauce. Despite occasional staff presence, their friendliness enhanced our experience. The relaxed ambiance and stunning view from the veranda made it unforgettable. Overall, District Five offered exceptional food, service, and atmosphere; perfect for a memorable beachside dining experience.
After spotting District Five situated along the beach the day before, my girlfriend and I decided to take a chance and make a reservation. With expectations tempered by the anticipation of a potential tourist trap with high prices, we were pleasantly surprised to find that this wasn't the case at all. Fast forward to the day itself, spent tanning on the beach, we found ourselves eagerly awaiting our meal. Little did we know that what awaited us would be an unforgettable dining experience.
Starting off light but flavorful, the cheesy garlic bread and bao buns were a delightful beginning to our meal. The garlic bread had just the right amount of gooey cheese and garlic, while the bao buns surprised us both with their fluffy texture and tasty fillings.
The highlight of the evening was definitely the main course: The amazing pork ribs and belly. Each rib was tender and flavorful, practically falling off the bone with every bite. Combined with the sweet and smoky barbecue sauce, the ribs were among the best dishes I ever had. Alongside, the slow-smoked pork belly was amazing as well. The sweet apple sauce complimented the savory taste of the pork incredibly well. It was the most tender meat we’ve ever had, while also being incredibly juicy.
With a relaxed vibe and friendly staff, the ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment of our evening. The veranda provided a perfect vantage point to admire the beach with its harbor and the colorful sky as the sun descended. Despite not being constantly present, the staff's friendliness and attentiveness whenever they did attend to us ensured that our dining experience was seamless, leaving us feeling warmly welcomed and well-cared for. Plus, the Love Island I shared with my girlfriend perfectly complemented the whole experience, adding an extra touch of enjoyment to our time there.
In conclusion, our experience at District Five was nothing short of exceptional. From the captivating appetizers to the mouthwatering main courses, each dish left a lasting impression on us. The relaxed ambiance, friendly staff, and breathtaking view from the veranda all contributed to an unforgettable evening by the beach.

A surprisingly good place! It looks like the typical high-class fancy tourist trap where everything costs thrice as much as it should for a quality that is simply average - but that is not true at all!
The price is very fair, and the quality (and quantity; the plate goes deeper than you see on my picture) is genuinely very good! Friendly staff, delicious food, a place to charge your phone at your table, and a nice view if you wish - I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my rest. :)

⛔ Avoid this place. I've ordered spaghetti ragu.
The dish was really heavy on my stomach. Meat was unseasoned and oily. It feels as if it wasn't stewed at all. There was an entire puddle of leftover oil on my plate.
Table service was mediocre. The only interactions with the waitress were ordering, receiving a basket with cutlery and receiving the dish. We waited quite long for the bill, so we went over and paid at the counter. I wasn't asked a single time if the dish tastes good.
Waiting time is quite long. Price I would say is rather expensive considering the quality, I paid 12.50 euro for a plate of bad spaghetti.
I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1, only due to large portions.

A pleasant Friday afternoon lunch by the sea. My Tomato Burrata salad was fresh and a good-sized portion. Great mix of ingredients with a generous amount of guanciale. Service was good but slow. Recommended if venturing to Birzebbugia.

Probably the best restaurant in Birzebbuga, the food is good, service as well and the setting of it, overlooking the beach is amazing. This place is perfect for group dinners. Well done and keep it up!

My experience here was very nice! Chicken breast was to much cooked but the beef brisket was amazing!
If I will change something, maybe I will want to have something sour by brisket, not grilled veggies or potatoes…or maybe some marinated delights from Malta, like I‘ve tried somewhere else, dry tomatoes+olives+capers+red paprika in a sour marinade!

That was the most visited place by us during our stay in Birzebugga! The restaurant has a great kitchen - pizza, pasta, burgers, salads... We liked everything. My favourite one was Blue cheese chicken pasta. The staff is polite and fast. You can pay by a card. Only one day, the terminals were not working.
We visited the swimming pool as well, it was perfect, but pay attention that it's 2.1m deep. It used for trainings, too. You can check the actual pool entrance price on their instagram/fb page. The area about the pool has a great tent, which makes the days not that hot.
