The restaurant is inside the compound so parking though limited is safe. Food was ok but nothing special. The baby squid dish is quite sweet. Service was very slow even though only 2 tables have customers. The staff always congregated inside the kitchen. Best place to try the best of Bicolano cuisine. Either dining with your friends or for the whole family. We tried the lumpiang laing. It was so good especially dipping it in coco milk catching the distinct bicolano taste. Sinabawang baboy is good with a balance taste of sour and a little bit spicy. Same with chopsuey it has a very distinct taste of sweet and sour added with the aroma of celery. For pan dolce, the frozen brazo de mercedes is superb. Not so sweet but you will love the taste of melting each layer in your palate...I highly recommend the place and will definitely return... Standard Filipino food, but certainly not "gourmet", as the name implies. Crispy Pata was chopped up and crispy, no complaints. Bicol Express was different than we've had before, authentic shrimp paste. Side of rice is a bit expensive at 55 peso ($1), since you can buy a kilo for that here. Sinigang was good, but not very sour. The soup is meant to be sour, but mine was kind of plain. My wife adds lemon juice and tamarind. Only complaint is that they are so incredibly cheap with the tissues! We spend 3000 peso and they don't put tissues on the table? They had some at the cashier area, but I had to go get them myself, and even then they were tiny and cheap and fell apart in your fingers. Never seen a "gourmet" restaurant not give guests decent tissues to wipe one's fingers and mouth, especially after eating crispy pasta with one's fingers. Come on, guys. Anyway, decent food, but nothing special. We will be back, but will bring wet-wipes since this place can't afford tissues. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
Perfect for family bonding. Loved eating here after being away from Bicol for so long. ♥️ Every bite tastes like home. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Kare Kareng Litsong Kawali
Prices are relatively fine. Laing was by far the best i have tried in Bicol region. I just wished they have classic laing (with out pineapples or cheese). Version of kinalas is good with big portion. Service needs improvement tho. We need to ask for ice, water, even tissue.
Tried out this place during a quick visit to Naga. Didn't disappoint! The laing was excellently prepared, and I enjoyed their take on Bicol Express with pineapples! A lovely, great-value Bicolano food experience.
An All Filipino dish, more of the Bicol flavoring and new dishes such as Kinunot na Pating and Dry Laong Springrolls with gata dip...not impressive but a cuisine worth trying when in Naga...
Second time to chef doy's after many years. Finding the place is easy with navigation.Parking is tight given the limited space in the courtyard. There is outside seating if you want. We were seated immediately even without reservations. The place needs a facelift but is quaint and charming. We ordered the nilasing na hipon, garlic rice, laing, sinigang na sugpo, fried plapla. The nilasing na hipon was a bit too salty for us, great laing, great sinigang with plenty of fresh shrimps and the best was the fresh fried fish. Service is amazing with a smile. No service charge and they do accept card.
One of the best places I have ever eaten. I legitimately enjoyed all 4 dishes my family ordered. Favorite of me and my family was the spicy fried rice. Only complaint was there was no chicken when I first ordered, but the quality and tastiness of the food made up for it.

The location is great. The ambiance and presentation of the food is nice. The food is also great but a bit pricey for the serving size. All in all, still a decent place to go to. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
