Went to this restaurant on January 27th 2024. The service was really good. They approached very well and even gave recommendations about the best items in the menu. We ended up ordering a smoked chicken burger with cheese and a special indonesian black rice and it was the best. Burger was also good. But maybe because the chicken was smoked, felt a bit dry. The drinks we ordered were also okay. Nothing special. Prices may be a little bit on the higher side. Overall a good food experience. Unforgettable Beef Delights at Charcoal Smokehouse, Kurunegala As a culinary enthusiast constantly in search of exceptional flavors, my recent visit to Charcoal Smokehouse in Kurunegala was nothing short of a revelation. Nestled in the heart of the city, this gem stands out as the go-to destination for delectable beef dishes. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance of Charcoal Smokehouse set the stage for a unique dining experience. The welcoming staff, combined with the warm and inviting interior, created a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The star of the show, however, was undoubtedly the food. On this occasion, I opted for a takeaway beef wrap, a decision that proved to be incredibly rewarding. The wrap was expertly crafted, with each ingredient harmoniously complementing the others. The beef, slow-cooked to perfection, was tender, juicy, and infused with a smoky richness that tantalized my taste buds. It was evident that only the freshest ingredients were used, a testament to the quality and care put into each dish. What truly set this beef wrap apart was the intricate balance of flavors. The smoky beef, coupled with the fresh, crisp vegetables and the soft, yet firm wrap, created a symphony of textures and tastes that was nothing short of mouthwatering. Each bite was a delightful journey, a perfect blend of savory, smoky, and subtle hints of sweetness. Moreover, the portion size was generous, ensuring a satisfying meal that was well worth the price. Great addition to Kurunegala. The taste and options are unique. Reasonable prices, friendly and speedy service, plus an awesome interior and vibe make this spot stand out. Tried the Charcoal soru, chilli submarine and Charcoal signature chicken leg. Each dish tasted different. Loved the chicken soru. While the food was outstanding, I believe there's room for improvement in the mocktail selection Overall highly recommend and definitely a must try in Kurungela. Last Sunday I had the pleasure of dining at Charcoal Smokehouse, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Smoked Meat Dish (5/5): The smoked meat dish, particularly the brisket, was an absolute standout. It was perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and bursting with smoky goodness. The flavor was impeccable, leaving me craving more. Beverages (4/5): I started with a refreshing mocktail, which was not only visually appealing but also a delicious palate cleanser. The coffee was a perfect ending to the meal, with a rich and robust flavor that lingered delightfully. Service (5/5): The service was impeccable throughout the meal. The staff was attentive, friendly, and eager to make the dining experience memorable. Conclusion: Charcoal Smokehouse is a hidden gem for smoked meat enthusiasts. From the mouthwatering meat dishes to the delightful beverages and top-notch service, it's a place I would highly recommend for a culinary adventure. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Had lunch here when I visited Kurunegala. The experience was very pleasant. Food tasted awesome but I wish the black rice had less oil. Portion Size was very generous. Reasonable for the price point. Atmosphere was good, though it was near busy main street. Had the convivence of paying with debit and credit cards too. Keep up the good work. Will recommend for anyone who visits Kurunegala. I recently dined at Charcoal Smokehouse and was excited to try their smoked meat dishes, along with their Lime juice and coffee offerings.. The highlight of the meal was definitely the smoked meat dish. I opted for the brisket, and it was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the rub they used added a delightful kick of spices. The portion size was generous, and it left me satisfied. I would definitely recommend trying their smoked meats. Additionally, the decor and lighting could use some attention to create a cozier and more inviting ambiance. It felt a bit stark and lacked the warmth that would enhance the dining experience. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person Rs 2,000–2,500 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We went there just 20 mins before the closing time. But food was served fresh and fast. We loved the food we ordered, all of it had that smoky taste which we loved the most. The atmosphere is nice too. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person Rs 1,000–1,500 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Super interior with great foods. To try smoki foods, I would recommend this place. This is located near Gettuwana junction, on Kandy road. We have to park the vehicle roadside. The interior and the staff are amazing. We have tried black rice with smokey beef, beef steak, chicken submarine and vergin mojitos. Prices are more expensive than other places in Kurunegala. But foods are worth the money. To have a calm time, this would be a great place. They are on PickMe food and Uber eats, also they are doing door delivery within Kurunegala radius. Amazing food and wonderful staff! Enjoyed our time here. Tried a couple of dishes from the smoker and they were absolutely worth the price. Can definitely recommend the pepper steak and the chicken whole leg. Enjoyed the wraps and burgers as well. Will be returning here 🔥 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person Rs 3,500–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Yesterday we had an amazing dining experience at Charcoal! This place is a meat lover's paradise. The smoked meats were incredibly flavorful and tender, and the black rice served alongside them was a delightful and unique twist. The combination was simply mouthwatering! But that's not all - their mocktails were a real treat. We tried a couple, and each one was bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. They offer a great variety for those who prefer non-alcoholic options. I can't wait to visit Charcoal again and explore more of their menu. If you're a fan of smoked meats, black rice, and delicious mocktails, this place is a must-visit! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person Rs 3,500–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
