Everything about this place was great. The owners were super kind, welcoming and friendly. We selected some cheeses to try with a couple of glasses of wine. The cheeses were great and the wine was some of the best I’ve had in Portugal. The prices were very reasonable. You can buy gifts to take with you, we bought the pumpkin jam and some seasoning salts. Great location, great people, great food! Will definitely be coming back here before we leave Portugal.

Cosy Space with two tables. Friendly and welcoming owners. Baked bread and cod cakes made in the little shop- they have different breads to choose from for your tasting platter. All of the food is locally sourced and delicious. You can try the wine and take the bottle home with you if you don’t finish.

We had passed a couple of times by this place, before we finally decided to go there. Chancela Gulosa was a great surprise 🤩 🤩 very nice environment, great variety of wines and quality regional products! What to say about the owners… lovely people! We had some very interesting discussions! I’m very happy that such a place exists close to my house!! (: we already went back to buy some bola de carne e bolo de alheira take away. They were excellent! Until next time! 🥰

We stopped by due to serendipity and what a gem we found.
The food was delicious and made with a real sense of flavor. The best cod fritters I have had in Portugal and I’ve tried many.
My husband had an amazing pork & melted cheese sandwich that he is still hankering for. The cheese it was explained comes from high altitude in a mountain area complemented the sandwich in just the perfect way.
The Portuguese owners are charming and speak Spanish, French and English.
The selection of wine is tremendous.
This small gem is what makes traveling without every stop planned a reminder of being guided by the moment.

Adorable, family-run place with great charcuterie! I moved to Costa Nova 1.5 years ago and didn't know where I was moving. I was surprised that Costa Nova didn't really have anything other than homes and some restaurants in the central area. Now, there is a quality cafe/charcutaria in my area! Come in for some wine, meat, cheese and you won't regret it!

We are staying about 3 miles away in a neighboring city. While walking in the morning we have seen this place a few times. Today we stopped, and OMG! Definitely the best place I have eaten since being in Portugal. Five different cheeses, toast crackers, wine and gifts for home, all priced under the price of two glasses of wine in California. Unbelievable selection and taste. We will be back before we leave...a few times...Thanks to the owners that suffered through my attempt at ordering in Portugese, and listening to our requests on the types of cheese etc. Abrigado!
