Recently had lunch at this cozy little cafe with my dad. We tried the meatloaf special – it came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The mashed potatoes were a standout, perfectly creamy. The brown gravy was okay, not my favorite. The green beans were tasty. As for the meatloaf, it was good, though not making it to my top ten. Overall, a decent meal in a quaint setting." We had the seafood platter and it was awesome. The fried oysters were so fresh and delicious, the fried shrimp was excellent. I wish I could remember our waitress because she was knowledgeable but very funny and pleasant. Great small place to eat with out a "corporate" feel to it. We will definitely be going back. My wife recommended this place when we were going to go ride on the Tammany Trace. And first time I ever came they had duck on the breakfast buffet which I find is fantastic. I can eat as much of multiple different things I enjoy and everything has been great. I think we came back at least four different times maybe five different times we live in Mississippi and I drove the 90 miles roughly to come here have breakfast before going out and riding the trace. Early bird specials $6 can't beat it and very delicious. Husband and wife owned and run so extra care is given to the food. Staff is very friendly and service is great. This place has been in Slidell for years and the food has always been consistently delicious as well as the service. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We ordered mozzarella triangles for the appetizer they were the best I've ever eaten with a soft crust and creamy cheese.The food arrived at the table fresh and hot before we were finished with our appetizer. There's not one negative thing I can say about the experience the restaurant and the rest rooms were spotless we were greeted as we arrived and when we left.
