We had already tried several places in Funchal, and for us, Osaka Sushi, 100% Sushi, and Sushi Funchal Restaurant Japonês were the best, but this restaurant in Calheta is top-notch! It stands out for the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the sushi. The sushi portion in the Dinner Menu was perfect for each of us, and the pieces were diverse and delicious. It has become our favorite spot, and we will definitely go there for lunch or dinner again! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–25 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Sushi Composition
Ate here twice on our week's holiday. Lovely food both curry and sushi. I would recommend both. The service was variable. Sometimes quite slow to get orders for drinks/ food and sometimes the order was wrong/ missing items. Overall the food was tasty and great value for money. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €25–30 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Tandoori Grilled Fish

I ordered a sushi combo 16 pieces , it came with 13 pieces of sushi and 3 pieces of sashimi. Tastes horrible not fresh at all. My other friends ordered the Indian menu were happy with their meals though. Another thing worth mentioning is the waiter’s attitude. I came here with a dog and i tied him to my table. There was one staff who shooed ay my dog twice , one time with a TRAY! my dog was just looking curious and NOT in this waiter’s way at all. I don’t think anyone who accept your (furry) child being treated like this when he’s not doing anything to anyone. I would not recommend this to anybody. You can get better Indian food and Japanese elsewhere easily. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €15–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes Sushi Composition

already eaten several times at Buddha & Sakura, varied menu with many vegan / vegetarian dishes! Flavors are fantastic, friendly staff and fast service. We opted for the Indian menu both times. We would love to come back again when we are in Madeira! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
A curious combination that has the potential of failing utterly nonetheless succeeds. We’ve enjoyed takeout mostly in the great company of our bulldog Hugo who waits patiently for us to savor the various Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan and Japanese delights. The portions are fair, enough for two people each, more if you have plenty of wine or beer on hand. The restaurant itself is located on the Calheta Beach harbor, a pleasant place to sit, gaze out into the ocean and the feel the evening wind of the white capped waves. The food is tasty indeed and reminds us of some of the fine Indian restaurants in the island. On the pricey side, some might say, a meal with appetizers and drinks for two will set you back 60 Euro depending on your tastes. You could of course eat less for less, doable. Well worth the trip.

Fabulous restaurant that does Japanese and Indian food, to our surprise both types of food are done very well. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–25 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes Crunchy Sushi
Visited twice this week with mixed results. The food was awesome the first day. We had dhal tarka and channa masala with naan. We really enjoyed it all, especially the dhal. The second day was a disappointment where we had Paneer Karahi and Malai Kofta with naan and tandoori roti. The Malai kofta did not seem to be made of vegetables and paneer but of some type of grain and the sauce was sweet like a dessert. The tandoori roti was undercooked. The paneer karahi was a bit tasteless. The service was good on both occasions and overall we may visit again one day to try something different.

The waiting staff are unfortunately disinterested in serving you and more interested in staying inside chatting with each other. The sushi and soba were great but waiting time on not a very busy night was very long… we ended up waiting 30minutes for edamame beans to be boiled/steamed.
We felt very welcomed although we arrived with two wild children. The food was very tasty. I enjoyed my mixed poke although my son nearly ate it all ;-) thank you very much! Something very special Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
