À propos
If you happen to be around Raja Ghat, visit this cafe. Taste something new from German and Indian cuisines. Most guests mark that you can order perfectly cooked vegetarian lasagna, potato salads and dhal here. Tasty pancakes, ice cream and biscuits are among the dishes to be tasted at Brown Bread Bakery. Here you can have good cordial or delicious beer. This place offers great americano, iced coffee or ice tea among its drinks. It's easy to find this spot due to the great location. The staff is said to be gracious here. Fast service is a strong point that plays a great role for the success of this cafe. Here you will pay reasonable prices. At Brown Bread Bakery, visitors can enjoy the exotic atmosphere and fancy decor. But google users haven't given this place a high rating.

The hostel and restaurant/bakery downstairs are a great, vibrant place. The rooms sadly do not have views but there is a nice rooftop restaurant with lots of live music. Great breakfast and nice hardworking people. The ghats are a stones throw away and the hostel is on the famous Bangali Tola alley. Only point of comment is that ordering, and receiving your order, can be a bit chaotic. I however definitely recommend staying here.

We went to ok the roof top for lunch… twice because it was so amazing! The place is run by a German so the food is amazing, and it’s a great way to relax in the city during the peak sun of the day! The people there were lovely, and it has such a calm atmosphere, with a few crazy monkeys climbing around the the place just to add a touch of excitement

Great place for dinner / Lunch. The Palak Paneer and Chapati was great. The fresh juice super and the honey lemon ginger tea fresh and spicy ❤️ the bathroom clean. The service great and fast and the homemade bread is delicious. The place is perfectly located and brings peace and quite into this crazy city ❤️
Good people run this place. I enjoyed the food greatly. To be honest, the lasagne was better than some I've had back home and I was not expecting that in India. Had a frozen frappicuno and that was excellent as well. If you want to sit on the rooftop just order first and go up. You will likely have it to yourself.
We stayed here for 3 nights - it’s a comfortable little guest house with clean rooms and good value for money, minutes walk from the ghats. We ate so much at the restaurant because the food was really good - especially the breakfast buffet with breads and cheese which we were craving. Staff are hard working and can’t do enough. Would recommend this place all day!
I only visited their cafe for lunch and it was a delightful experience. I tried their chicken goulash and some mint lemonade and it tasted deliciously great. The ambience was pretty and the roof top vibe was calming. The staff were professional and welcoming. The price was slightly higher considering it is located in a tourist spot. Reaching here with a 4wheeler vehicle would be problematic, as it is located inside the narrow lanes of varanasi. It's very close to the ghats of the river Ganga.
Lovely place to get a bite to eat when you are a bit curried out ! The cheese is great, as was the schnitzel. The pasta was far too salty to eat, but maybe we were just unlucky. Good coffee and great service and atmosphere. Also they support lots of wonderful causes which is always a plus!

Decent economical and clean place to stay. Rooms are simple and price is reasonable. Featured on Lonely planet. Location is very close to the Ganga ghats, just 5 minutes walk. Service is friendly. It has an attached cafe on ground floor with European and Indian style meals, cakes, bread, juices, coffee etc. Has WiFi.
I know they use some of their profits for a good cause, but clearly overhyped by the Lonely Plamet for exactly this reason. Left with very mixed feelings. After enjoying a tasty breakfast on my first day there, with really friendly staff, I returned a couple of days later as I felt like having a break from Indian cuisine for a night. Their burger was genuinely terrible (just a bun and a “patty” - zero salad) and the staff were if not rude, certainly a bit abrupt. Perhaps they were tired after a long day? Either way, the food quality was hugely disappointing, especially for the price, compared to some other places I’d eaten at in Varanasi. Wouldn’t return.

Great place to have food in Varanasi. The people who are taking care of the place are so helpful and nice to the clients. Once you arrive you feel the warmth of their personality. The menu is fully in English and they have a lot of variations on it. I ate pizza and the taste of it was extraordinary. I'd recommend this place to everyone in Varanasi.
