It's a pleasant experience to eat nicely cooked fried chicken, grilled chicken and Bbq pork. The cooks here prepare good banana pudding. A lot of visitors order delicious tea. The cosy atmosphere of this bbq makes customers feel relaxed and have a nice time. Many guests have noticed that employees are well-trained at Boss Hog's Chicken & BBQ. Here you will pay reasonable prices. This place is rated on Google 4.2 by its visitors.

This is a cafeteria style restaurant with very good service. The staff were very kind and helpful. I even enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the place. The food however was overcooked. I mean from the veggies to the meatloaf. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Good old plain menu, but enough for every eater to have options! They are affordable, have daily deals, and I LOVE their utensils are individually wrapped at the tops. No waste of plastic. If you need only a spoon you aren't throwing out extra things! I had gotten the Pork w Apples,Sweet potatoes, green beans and Hush puppies. Hubby got Ribs,Slaw,Potatoes and hush puppies, 2 Drinks and was around $30 with a tip! We will be there at least 2x a month! Bring the kids or alone but trust me you have to go Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Kids Chopped BBQ Combo
My husband and son picked up food here. First, he said the service was awful. He said there were five or so people just standing around while he and other customers stood there waiting for someone to take their order. Once someone finally did he said they were extremely rude. The food was absolutely terrible. The shrimp and oysters were over cooked and waaaay too salty. The flounder was flavorless and cooked to mush. My kids liked their BBQ sandwiches and the Mac and cheese but that is it. The chicken was very dry and over cooked. 90$ down the tubes. Over half the food was inedible. I miss Cliffs Seafood so much. Save your money, go to the fish market and make it yourself. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1
A friend of mine took me here for Christmas it was terrific. I prefer the 'Eastern North Carolina' barbaque sauce which is vinegar not tomato based and Boss Hogg's delivers. The in store display (think Panda Express) shows you exactly what you'll get. Every meal comes with hush puppies and I also got baked beans and some kind of potatoes. The baked beans had peaches in it and were delicious (after I picked out the peaches! I am a Yankee after all) The potatoes were good but I don't eat very much at 1 time so I concentrated on the BBQ pork. The picture of my plate was taken AFTER I completely stuffed myself! For me it was enough for 3 meals. My friend got a fried pork chop that was excellent. The staff was super friendly (I am glad to live in the south again). It's moderately priced. The check was $35 for the 2 of us but we actually got 5 servings so I think for the ambience, service and food it's a good value. Highly recommended! The past two times I've been in the service has been sub par at best. Everyone seems to be in a hurry to leave and are very short with you. Cashier rude!! I was served at 730 and my food was put in a to go box and bag. If I ordered it to go thsts okay don't assume I want it to go or not even ask. Didn't even ask if I wanted a drink. I had to ask then she rolled her eyes at me and slides me a cup. I will not be coming back anymore I will also advise all six of my kids to steer clear and all my co workers. Money is just to hard to come by and be treated like this! No thanks... hopefully this will go to management and they do something good with it besides roll there eyes... The food was terrible and the service was as bad. I got the ribs which were burned on the outside and raw to the bone on the inside, collards which had been from a can and tasted of metal and the baked beans which had hunks of what looked like canned peaches in them. I used to eat here some years back and the food was fabulous, now it's awful. When I spoke with the staff about the food and asked to speak with the manager, she could not be bothered to speak with me and asked the cashier to find out what I thought she was going to do about it. I told the young lady I was sharing especially about them serving raw meat so no one else would get sick and she told me there was nothing they were going to do. I will never go back........ This was a big waste of money for what we got. We each had a meat (my chicken breast was old and cold), the cabbage and hushpuppies were cold, and the baked beans were barely five bitefulls. The only good thing was the sweet tea. I was shocked when the bill was $35.42. For two people who stood in the serving line, cafeteria style, picked up our order and cleaned our table, we could have eaten a much better meal at a local restaurant buffet. If the food had been fantastic, the price wouldn't have been so extreme, but at 1pm, it should at least have still been hot. If u want great southern/country food this is the place to go. The only thing I didn't care for was the ribs bc not enough meat on it and way too much grissle. Put it this way more grissle than meat and that's just my opinion on it. However, the collards and the cabbage is so close to my grandmas it's unbelievable. It's a buffet type of eatery with 6-10 different types of meat choices and over a dozen sides plus what's on the menu board to order. And I believe as you come in there's a writing board that tells you what's the lunch/that days special and the price. Like I said this is five star country food and the other two places like this are Hog Heaven And King Chicken and all three are five star country food places you have to eat at to me. Best comfort food down east! Food is priced well, orders are always right, and delicious. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fried okra and Mac and cheese are perfect! Top it all off with banana pudding and you should find yourself in a heavenly food coma. Highly highly recommend!
