This restaurant has won our hearts! The food here is exceptional, and the owners are incredibly welcoming. We've visited three times consecutively, and each visit was delightful. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the amazing paella, and we thoroughly enjoyed trying a bit of everything on the menu. Highly recommended!! Great local experience. I had the seafood platter, but just be aware that it's not what you expect as you don't get prawns and calamari, but I did try sea urchin for the first time. Delicious meal, with lots of complementary side dishes. Friendly, welcoming, and multilingual (Arabic, English and French) staff. I ordered one of the fresh fish catches of the day, a fish soup and a beverage, and was pleasantly surprised by the extra seafood, salad and other side dishes (see photos). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! I visited the 'Au Crabe' restaurant in El Oualidia on September 7th. The welcome from the owner, Simo, was exceptional. Upon learning I was bringing my parents, he ensured we had a memorable experience. We were delightfully surprised by the complimentary assorted salads, mussels prepared in two different ways and the fish soup, all given as a free gift from him. The royal seafood platter, featuring fish, crabs, lobsters, and oysters was magnificent. Simo personally served us, even offering food with his own hands, a gesture we deeply appreciated. To conclude, we were offered tea and the traditional KAAK biscuit from Oualidia and Asfi. A big thank you to 'Au Crabe by Simo'. Au Calme has to be on your list of stops in Oualidia. The minute you will step into this lovely restaurant, you will embark on a truly wonderful culinary journey. The food is absolutely exquisite, and the owner is kind, funny and energetic, and will go to great lengths to make your time at his restaurant very worthwhile. We were offered free entrées and complimentary mint tea and cookies at the end, but mostly, we ended up spending three magical hours doing nothing more than enjoy one tasty dish after the other, whilst basking in the warm Oualidia sun. This place, quite literally as its name states, will immerse you in a state of calm, and your seafood cravings are guaranteed to be satisfied by the hardworking people in the restaurant's kitchen. The fish is fresh from the sea, rendering this gastronomical voyage much richer. Take a book, your friends and a deck of cards, or simply go on your own, for this place will certainly charm you and ignite all of your senses in the best way possible.
