You can stay and sit on lounge chairs in the shade for free here if you take the water taxi.
We read reviews and did not spend any money here due to many saying they are scammers. We just used it as a free shady spot to rest and use wifi and for that it was good. We brought our own beers and waters. They did not bother us to spend money after we initially said no thank you, I guess just our presence was good enough as it made their restaurant look busier. The bathroom wasnt anything id recommend but at least it was free.
The place itself is nice, but the bathrooms are horrendous. Don’t just sit there because it’s the closest restaurant to the dock. It’s more expensive than the other ones. The service was awful. For example, we had a group of 9, where half got there meals within 15 minutes, whereas the the other half had to wait an additional 40 minutes for our food. The drinks were overpriced. When we would ask for more tortillas, they would take forever to come. Plus, my chicken fajitas came to the table cold. And, the kicker was that at the end, they added extra money on the bill, and when asked about it, they said it was a suggested gratuity. Are you kidding me?!?! STAY AWAY!!!

Scam scam Scam. We stayd in Yelepa for 4 days and had an amazing time minus our run in with this restaurant and family. Yelepa doesn't have atms, nor does very many places take cards, so cash is key. We were running low on cash and one of the waiters said they do cash back for 10% of the fee. With it costing 480 pasos for a round trip water taxi ride to get more pasos, this seemed reasonable. He took my card, swiped it once and said it did not go through, swiped it again and said everything was good. Got back to our room and check my bank statement and we were changed twice. I confronted him and he lied and never gave me the additional 3300 pasos he charged me. Avoid these scum bags and go into yelapa for everything!
This is our go-to beach restaurant in Yelapa. Super chill, attentive and great staff; at the end of the beach so less day trippers. Had their fish tacos today for the first time and DELICIOUS (lightly tempura breaded juicy mahi mahi). Raicilla served with orange as it should be. Hand cut fries. Chipotle mayo. All the things.
I stayed 3 nights in the loft rooms at Angelina's Garden Restaurant is a very fun and adventurous place to stay. The room is the grass-roofed loft over the restaurant, available on AirBnB. The room is very comfortable and has electricity and light, but is rustic. Lounging in the beach chairs in the morning and evening was amazing. Missael and his coworkers are very helpful and friendly. The food was great, especially the chicken dishes and breakfasts. I had a wonderful time. The drinks were easily the best I had in Yelapa. I strongly recommend staying here if you've always wanted to stay in a grass shack on a remote beach!

SCAM! The water taxi recommended this first restaurant on the beach as their tour guide and free wifi. Do Not be Deceived! If you are traveling, pay attention to the high number of one star reviews. The waiter was willing to ruin our trip if that's what it took to get more money out of us. He repeatedly insisted that the waterfall was 90min each way, and that if we didnt find the right spot to cross the river, it could take even longer as well as being very dangerous to cross. He insisted that we needed a horse or ATV tour to make it there in time, otherwise if we tried to make it on our own in 3.5hrs, we would likely miss the boat and be stuck there. We sadly believed we could not go to the waterfall, and instead ordered drinks. When we closed our tab the waiter had charged us significantly more for a Virgin margarita than for the menu price with alcohol, and had additional mark ups. Fortunately we did so early, and went to CocoTiki where the nice waitress told us the waterfall was only 30min away, and easy to get to, and there were no concerns about crossing the river. We had a delightful lunch & drinks at CocoTiki, & made it to the waterfall & back with time to spare.

Absolute trash. It’s super expensive and the food sucks and they bring it to you cold. The margaritas are the smallest margaritas I’ve ever seen. I’m completely traumatized from the state of the bathrooms and to top it all off, at the end they added an extra 120 pesos onto the bill and when we asked them about it, they said that was their “suggested tip” 🤦♀️

Sacm, scam, scam
They make it seem like they want to help you but they WILL rip you off
1. Double check all items in your check, they add items you did not order and charge higher prices than what was in the menu
2. They add an arbitrary 25% tip and don't tell you. This is illegal in Mexico. I have a picture of receipt and filing a complaint with PROFECO, Mexico consumer protection agency. This has to stop.
3. They will deny any wrong doing and blame everything on you
Don't ignore all the one star reviews!!!

AVOID. Check your bill before you leave - they add a 25% tip, misrepresent prices of everything you order, and miscalculate the total. They intentionally don’t give you your bill until you’re otherwise going miss your water taxi if you don’t pay.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience here! Service was above and beyond! We also got a great deal on the paddle boards. Eduardo (I apologize if I misspelled your name) was always checking in on us and doing everything possible to make sure we had a great time while visiting! Very happy with how our day went and how we were treated!
