Ad Hoc in Yountville is a casual family style restaurant run by Michelin Guide Recommended chef Thomas Keller. The restaurant offers a multi course menu that changes everyday and is known for their fried chicken. While the food was not always well balanced in taste and the wine pairings were not up to par, the overall ambience and service was great. The lobster Mac add on is highly recommended. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and very knowledgeable. The desserts were delicious, though the cheesecake could have been baked better. The bathrooms were unsanitary and there were flies all over the dining room area. The portions were small and the food was overpriced. The drinks menu was expensive and lacked tasting notes. Despite the negatives, Ad Hoc is still worth a visit for the atmosphere and good service.
