The decor & ambience was very nice. The food (presentation/plating and taste) however, were mediocre at best. My wife had the Rotisserie Farm Bird that was somewhat bland. I, had the Grilled Sirloin with fries; the sirloin was quite fatty and a little bit too burnt for my liking. The fries nevertheless were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Overall, our dining experience wasn’t bad but the food definitely could’ve been better considering the price we paid. Welcome: We arrived around 7PM and had a 45-minute wait time for a table that was already set. The ambiance of the restaurant gives off amber vibes with an upbeat music playlist creating a warm atmosphere for guests. Please note that, despite the wait, they were short 2 napkins and forks. Additionally, we were provided knives late — after entrées were already served. Appetizers: The fries were crisp to satisfaction with no soft or soggy texture. The ketchup has a hint of mustard giving it a slight kick. The restaurant also offers a varied selection of hot sauces. Bar: Offers a wide selection of whiskey, your common beers, and a variety of old fashioned options. The bartender carded a select few customers that were requesting an alcoholic beverage. Our party appreciated that the juices offered were prepared in-house. Dining: Water is served in a mason jar. Having ordered the Chicken & Waffle entrée, the waffle is slightly crisp on the edge, while mostly erring on the side of being soft, but not soggy. This includes where there was no contact with the egg, which was prepared sunny-side up and was well done. The maple syrup was relatively diluted, and the gravy was lightly salted as if complimented with mashed potatoes. Additionally, my party said that the grits they ordered would have been served better separate from the seasoning and the cheese. Dessert: Requested one slice of whiskey cake for a party of 6, as they tend to be relatively large in size. Provided preference of keeping whipped cream on the side, or on top (Image of 6th of a slice). The whipped cream smoothly balances out the firm texture of the cake with the pecan. Simultaneously, it balanced out the sweetness of the whiskey and syrup within the cake. Consider a rum-infused, pecan brittled brownie evened out with a sponge texture. Had a fantastic experience at Whiskey Cake in Katy. The atmosphere is inviting, and the menu offers a variety of flavorful dishes. This is a solid choice for dining on every trip I make to Katy. I have been several times with family and coworkers and I’m never disappointed. I can’t recommend this place enough for good food and good service. Great for various picky eaters and dietary restrictions too. Came here for some appetizers and drinks. My family wanted to show me their drinks for a while now. I forgot the waitress name but we were there 12/6 Sunday and out waitress was training another young lady. She was knowledgable about dietary restrictions options on the menu. We ordered the lentil shepards pie which was delicious, deviled eggs, and the hummus was amazing!!!! Got rum and coke, old fashions. Will def be back. The bathroom for womens stall was extremely cold but thats about it. I loved the bar area and decorations. Smells great in there. Will be back. First time here, the atmosphere was great, dim lighting relaxing vibe. You can come here for a business meet or just dine with family. They cook great food feels home made and so fresh! Their drinks, burbon and whiskey are enjoyable as well! I have always liked whiskey cake from San Antonio . I have almost tried everywhere Dallas and Houston. Loved the SA location so far. The food was amazing as always. However I ordered the passion fruit drink with vodka , without any trace of passion fruit whatsoever. It just tastes like vodka and lime juice. Very much disappointed with drinks this time. Service was mediocre with tips starting from 18% , expected a little more. We have had to wait for forks/knifes for burgers and small plates for sharable. We were a group of 11 , a few of us were shoved to another side almost attached to the near by tables . The other table we’re celebrating birthday I felt I was way connected to them rather my table lol ! I guess after covid sense of date night or intimate dinners are long gone ! The restaurant is nicely decorated. I was a little put off by the paper menus for this class of restaurant. The fried green tamatos were great! The Candied bacon was pork belly, and it had great flavor but was a bit dry. The pork sliders had soggy buns due to the slaw being very wet. Our waitress was very prompt and super friendly. My favorite part was the old fashioned with custom ice cube! Y'all should use that in all your old-fashioned cocktails. It was very unique. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My visit was wonderful. Me and my lady friends enjoyed the salads and appetizers and was not disappointed. And the cake!!!! Oh god it was so good. I loved the atmosphere.
