So disappointed. I moved away from the DFW (Roanoke) area about 10 years ago and this is one of the places I’ve bragged about to my coworkers. Got a chance to bring them here and it has apparently turned into a boring cookie cutter burger joint. Food was very mediocre, prices were high, ordering was difficult, and the pickles were as soggy and disappointing as the hamburger buns. I won’t come back and wish I had left this place in my memories instead of experiencing the shell of their former glory that now stands in its place. Blah. Home of the real life Krabby patty! 😂🥲 I love twisted root. I definitely hit this place up more than 3 times a week if I can! 😂 staff is always friendly! The staff was friendly and courteous. They took our order and explained the system to pick up our food. We got Willie Nelson. This is such a smart idea as you do not have to fumble around trying to spell and pronounce the guests name correctly. The classic was delicious, hot, fresh, and a good value. My wife had a kids cheeseburger, and it was still more than she could eat. The fries were hot and crispy. The diet soda was terrible, and I will not order it again. The light was out over our booth, and the cleaning was not up to par. We enjoyed our visit and were surprised to find this location. A better job of cleaning and maintaining the restaurant would go a long way towards a return visit from us. The staff and food both get 5 Stars! Went to celebrate a family birthday. Atmosphere was fun and exciting. There were families and fun music, even a trivia question in which to win a root beer float. There was only 1 real dedicated worker that came back and forth from the kitchen to do most everything while 3 others behind the counter ignored me and others waiting. That was the most frustrating part. The carbonated drink machine needs a new/ better filter because all drinks had a background taste which was not fresh. Food was OK and there are lots of interesting choices but burgers are at least $9+ with NO SIDES! Sides are OK, fries a tad soggy but generous with cheese and bacon and jalapeños. Busboy kind and helpful. In summary, food tastes good, portion sizes are just OK, prices are not matching food value. The experience could have been top notch except for the 3 employees that ignored us all at the counter. We enjoyed the food in general . Met family for a bday celebration and the atmosphere was fun. The prices were OK. The burgers do not come with ANY side and the average burger is $10+. Sides are average. The drinks are small and the drink machine offers a fair share of options BUT the water filtration system is poor. All carbonated beverages have that " city-water" taste. I walked up to the counter to ask for a take home container and 3 employees straight up pretended I didn't exist. I tried to talk to them but they just kept on talking about containers or something under the very place I was standing without acknowledging me. So, I said "excuse me to a 3rd employee but she was also too busy picking onions out of a silver tray to give me a notice. Yes, they all saw me but it apparently wasn't their job. Finally, a helpful woman from the kitchen BEHIND 2 counters asks what she can help me with and simply takes 4 seconds to hand me a container. All in all, best parts are the fun atmosphere, the same 1 employee that helps everyone, food choices are fun but prices won't win value contests and sodas are not good. 3 stars 🌟 and 2 go to that 1 employee that actually cared. Today was our first visit at Twisted Root Burger Co. off Central. I didn’t quite know what to expect. The random names of singers and movie stars that are assigned to your order. So when it’s ready, they call the name assigned. Such as Ferris Buller, Mister Rogers, Ironman, Sally Fields, etc. The food was incredible. Burgers made to order and correct. We tried the onion ring basket. The batter they use has incredible flavor! There were about seven of us in our group and everyone raved about it. Great place to gather for lunch. By the way…I’m a Christmas Story movie lover. They even have the “leg lamp” over by the bar! The manager came over to visit and was super friendly. Really, everyone had a great attitude and work ethic. Excellent customer service. Something that’s hard to find these days. Looks like we have a new burger place to visit more often. It was a quiet Thursday afternoon when I came, my food came out quick and tasted pretty good! I also tried a PB shake and that was delicious. Only thing is inside there were lots of dirty tables with trays of food on them that hadn’t been cleared yet, so kind of off putting to find a seat and half aren’t wiped or cleared off from the last person. 1st off burger was phenomenal, if rating on burger and customer service alone would be a 5 star review. Friendly and fun staff, great pickles and burgers. Shakes were also good! Fries were sub par at best, tasted burnt, were all end pieces and cold. The chips would have been great but had so much seasoning on them that eating one was like pouring a salt shaker in your mouth. Would definitely go back for the burgers but would pass on fries and do chips with no seasoning. Wow. Completely awestruck by the incredible food, employee, atmosphere & vibe. There are truly no words to describe the experience this place offers, so you’ve got to go check it out for yourself! We were also privileged enough to meet Quincy, one of the Twisted Root founders, whose energy, spirit & sense of humor is truly unmatched. My mom & I have quickly become his biggest fans.
