I have been going to this diner for years and always loved their food. The last few years I have not visited because I moved out of town. I returned and was so happy to see that they are still dishing out great food and service. I had the flat iron sandwhich with steak fries and French onion soup. The soup was cheesy just the way I like it. The piece of bread in the soup was perfect. Try the soup it is so good. If you are not a fan of blue cheese I do not recommend the sandwhich. If you are a fan like me they put a good amount of crumbled blue cheese. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. I don't have a picture but get a piece of cake, you will thank me later. The food it’s really good I used to came a lot long time ago. For time I can’t come like usually. Food is great, but last night I went with a friend, for her first time recommending her but the service was not as I expected or used to be before or maybe because was night and I used to go morning time. I order a doble espresso with just foam “cortado” I forgot the name but knowing that they have an espresso machine and that they have a steamer I knew that I could have the opportunity to have a cortado. The waiter said that this was not done because they only have cappuccino which he explained in Spanish as he spoke the same language but he was a little rude. Maybe he didn't want to do it or I don't know what the reason was but it didn't seem like it to me. It's easy to just put the foam and that's it. In the end he brought me the double espresso and the foam. But if I had known that they were going to charge me $2.40 for the foam, I would have been better off ordering a cappuccino. Not even a half liter of milk is worth that. In the end, the food was delicious, the service was terrible because they didn't know how to serve well. The tip is given to the service that one expects, that is why I gave 10% since it was not deserved. Everything you would hope from a jersey diner while leaving Newark airport for home!! Drove to two other diners that looked disgusting from outside 🙄 you also know it's the 'go to' for locals coming from church (yes, today is Sunday). Super clean, friendly and made my greek omelette the way I love it with Gyro meat that they didn't skimp on. Love you guys and your 2pm breakfast. Will stop back when I'm traveling through EWR. Enjoyed brunch at this Diner! The food was fresh, tasty and well-seasoned. Our first visit here and we were impressed. The customer service experience was positive and the waiter was attentive. You can even play your lottery at Tropicana! Only one minus, the stereo at our table did not work. The experience is superb overall, I went for dinner, the wait time was instant. The atmosphere had a minimal tropical feel in contrast with hard wood floor and college cafeteria like tables and chairs. The menu had many options with typical diner food and also had restaurant food like pasta dishes and Latin dishes with it's own section on the menu. The service was spot-on and the wait for the appetizers and food were pretty quick. Plenty of parking as well. This place is a go-to diner for me and my friends. Very nice dine in restaurant. This was my first time there and we were seated and served quickly. The food was piping hot and so good! The veggies in my eggs were so fresh! Been a while since I was here. Got the roasted veggie panini. Was amazing! Love the bread it came on, super tasty and veggies were cooked to perfection. Fries were also great. Came to tropicana diner for a late dinner with my wife. The service was great and everything on the menu looked so good. Very hard to decide. My wife got the churrasco dinner that came with rice beans Avocado and a soup to start. The churrasco was cooked perfectly. It came out on a sizzling plate which is always fun. I got the wild west burger with onions and bacon and cheese and it was a good big juicy burger. My favorite were the handmade onion rings. They tasted so fresh and crispy.
