This was my first visit, so I got several items to try. First, I like the way products are set up for customers to easily explore on their own and make decisions at their own pace with the self-serve style. The experience was fun & exciting and very clean. However, the overall atmosphere was oddly quiet & uncomfortable at the same time??
Unfortunately, when I sampled the different pastries (at home), I was disappointed. The plain croissant was overcooked and dry, a slice of peach cake was stale and was clearly not fresh. I tried a few other fruit & cheese based pastries & they were all disappointing with a lack of flavor. They looked beautiful, but the flavor was missing. Surprisingly, the best item was something I got on a whim & it was perfection... a plain twisted donut with granulated sugar coating. It was fresh, soft, and flavorful without being super sweet... a delight!
I would definitely go back for a second chance, though, at a different time of day. Earlier in the morning would have been better, I bet.
