À propos
Tucked away in Carrabassett Valley, The Rack is a casual dining spot that offers classic American cuisine with a mountain twist. The open atmosphere and ski lodge-esque bar create a welcoming ambiance for visitors after a long day of skiing or hiking. The decor nods to the history of Sugarloaf Mountain, adding a nostalgic vibe to the establishment. Prices are fair for the quality of food and service provided. The menu features a variety of dishes, including pizzas, burgers, and barbecue. The smoked kielbasa BBQ platter with hoisin BBQ sauce is a must-try, while the Reuben sandwich is a crowd favorite. For drinks, try the blueberry seltzer called Dash, made by one of the bartenders, or any of the Maine brews on tap. The Rack also boasts special features such as outdoor seating with fire pits and live music. Families with young children will appreciate the arcade on the lower level, while adults can enjoy the solid beer selection at the large bar area. While service can be hit or miss depending on the time of day, the friendly locals and staff make up for any shortcomings. Overall, The Rack is a great establishment for those seeking good food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere at a reasonable price.

We love the fried chicken sandwich, nachos, any of the barbecue choices (the sides like slaw and beans are great), and kids' options are great too. Great beer selection. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Brisket Nachos

Been here a few times and never was impressed with the service but food has been good. There were six of us this trip. We had pizza which was good. Once our server gave the food she didn’t come back. We all wanted another round of drinks to wash the pizza down and had to flag her down as she had just kept walking by with no eye contact. After we ate we were told we needed to pay our tab and move to a different table in a different room down below as they needed that table. The room had picnic tables. We preceded to order a couple of rounds of drinks then were told that if we were not staying for the band we needed to leave. If we were staying then we each needed to pay 10.00. We told them we were not staying for the band. Note that the band was in a completely different room. We were told we needed to finish up and leave that cops were going to be there and checking that everyone had bands on their wrists. After spending well over 500.00 on food and drinks then be told to leave… well we did and will NEVER go back. seriously lacking in service and food. there are better options around, even the resort bar would be worth the $$. my experience as a 28 y/o Asian woman: ordered a drink after skiing and got carded, which was fine! I realized I didn’t have my ID with me so I just ordered a soda (my bad!). however, the issue was the bartender explained that it’s policy to card everyone (totally get it, it’s the law etc.) yet did not card anyone that came in after us, all presumably around our age. there was a group of young guys who sat down right next to us and they all got served without being carded… super frustrating experience. Not asking for her to serve me without an ID at all, but at least be consistent.. Food: 1 Service: 1

World-class apres-ski bar food. We ate here everyday for a week and everything was great - food, service, vibe, etc. They need to give the weekend cooks a raise, just outstanding. Our favs: seafood chowder, beet salad with steak added, smokehouse burger. Get there early for the fastest service and food, it gets really busy. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
