The service was the only good thing. My husband ordered a well-done burger they served it less than rare. He took a bite, and it was bleeding everywhere, so he sent it back. Now, this is a little bit of an upscale joint, mind you. They return his burger, now well done with a new bun, the same cold fries, and the same burger patty he ate off of. I am fairly sure it's a health code violation to recook food people have eaten off of. It was their mistake. I wish they would have done better to fix it... Whenever we are in Monterey this is a must stop. We really enjoy the outside patio, it’s always a thrill when a jet landing at the nearby airport buzzes the parking lot. This time for lunch I had a fried chicken sandwich and my wife had fish and chips. We started out with calamari but there was a mixup with the timing and the plates came out before the app. The manager came out and said they would re-make the plates when we were ready rather than park them under a heat lamp. The second time I've been here I recommend the Ribeye but I ordered the Braised Short Rib this time. Not a large portion but very good. Sat outside with a cool Summer day and had a great server. Update: went to Tarpys and had the NY steak, it came with roasted potatoes, brocollini and Truffle butter. Ate Every Bite. Highly recommend this dish. Also had the Lemon cheesecake but no photo.
