This restaurant was pretty amazing. Everything was top notch. My only complaint would be that the Roosevelt room is rather small and they seated us in this room with another party of ten who were just belligerent. No fault of the restaurant though. Perhaps move us in the future. Our waitress apologized and took care of us for the constant disruptive table though. Went here to celebrate a birthday. We were seated outside under their pavilion for a party of 8. There was a little bit of a wait to get drink orders in but after that the rest of the orders were taken pretty quickly. I was impressed originally at how quickly our appetizers came out. The deviled eggs weren't great or bad just meh. The fried green tomatoes were sliced a bit thick. Mushy and not well battered but the lobster on top was nice and lump. I wouldn't get the tomatoes again. Everyone gets a basket of biscuits which were very good. Entrees took about an hour after appetizers to come out. We were all looking around like where is our food lol. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the porkchop dish. The shrimp and grits weren't our favorite. They were weird and then randomly had macaroni noodles in the plate. The porkchop dish was decent. Overall I was a little disappointed in the place. My sister really hyped this spot up. The server was nice and they do offer military discount which was nice. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Pricey but SO good. Great food, amazing service, and really fun atmosphere. We sat upstairs behind the bookcase (hidden door - really cool) and really enjoyed the views both in and out. Fried chicken was excellent, but the real winner was the biscuits and pork belly. My gosh soooooo good. Definitely worth a visit. We loved it. Oh my Gosh!!! This place was AMAZING!!! We found it by accident being from out of town and drove by it... my wife said "look at that cool little house!" "Turn around and let's eat there" we were created by the owner who suggested a table in the gabsebo out back with live music. Great choice!!! You could tell he took a great amount of pride in his place. The atmosphere was amazing, the decor and history was amazing! the wait staff was AMAZING!! And the food was over the top good! If we are ever back.in this area we will for sure go out of our way to come here. Just recently went to this restaurant for a work party Happy Hour & the appetizers and cocktails were delicious. I’ve never been here but the atmosphere and restaurant is a whole vibe. Loved it! We had the upstairs speakeasy to ourselves & enjoyed fresh southern appetizers from deviled eggs, lobster Mac and Cheese and fried chicken. The bartender/waiter that was working our event was quick, personable & attentive. Will be back! We sat for 10 minutes before a server finally came, only because I asked for one. He was good but didn't tell us about any of the specials. It was our anniversary and my husband made reservations and the table was decorated very lovely. As an anniversary gift we were able to order 2 drinks that were very good. Our food was well done a well. I ordered the Bouillabaisse and although it was tasty, it did not have much broth, which is what I expected. Otherwise, everything was good. Our server was nice and friendly but not very servicing as he didn't ask if we wanted more water, only refills for the drinks. Easily the best dine out experience of the year. Warm, ambient and cozy surroundings of an old mansion, dim lights and absinthe wall art on a frigid December night. We were seated with another couple in the corner of an upstairs dining room and Rhett, our server, excelled in every possible way, even giving us a brief tour after our dinner. The scallop appetizer and the wedge salad were delicious. The filet melted in my mouth. The entire restaurant gave off an enchanting, mysterious and haunted vibe, with a secret doorway and an upstairs bar tucked away that serves absinthe. This is a place to go on a chilly night to celebrate with friends. By far one of the best dining experiences of my life.
