Come here for a meal right after seeing First Lutheran Church. A lot of guests say that waiters serve good blt, tomato salads and chicken strips here. Tasty sundaes, egg waffles and French toasts have a nice taste. Try delicious craft beer, wine or root beer. A selection of great oreo milkshakes, americano or ice tea is provided to visitors. Food delivery is a big advantage of this restaurant. A number of reviewers note that the staff is gracious at Phillips Avenue Diner. Nice service is something clients agree upon here. Average prices are to be expected at this place. You will certainly appreciate the exotic atmosphere and modern decor. This spot has received Google 4.5 according to the guests' opinions.

Great service! We came on a cold, windy day for lunch and the restaurant wasn’t super busy. We were seated right away and the service was great. I’d say it took about ten minutes for the food after we ordered. I tried the southwest chicken wrap with sweet potato fries, and the fries were nice and crispy and the cut was the way I like my fries!! We also tried the Sweet Chili burger battle burger, which was different but had a really good flavor! Great choice for a good, satisfying meal!! A fun little diner with friendly staff and delicious food. As a Canadian, I was particularly impressed by the poutine. It’s rare to find it outside of Canada and this was well done. Canadian approved and highly recommended! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Beef Stroganoff with Garlic Bread

Good experience. Had a chocolate malt for breakfast and it was served old school with a malt glass, whipped cream and cherry, and the mixing cup with leftover as a side. Breakfast plate was where they dropped the ball. Corned beef hash came and the corned beef was burnt and over crispy. Very disappointed. Eggs were fine and not overdone. Other dishes at table seemed to be prepared properly and they enjoyed them, including chicken and waffles. They need to update their Google maps description to say “limited breakfast all day.” I showed at 1145 looking forward to eggs Benedict and found out they don’t serve “breakfast all day.” Different phrasing would prompt me to check times on their website/menu and change my plans to be here for the full breakfast menu. Still a cool place and great service. The 2 2 2 was good. Not sure if my eggs were poached as requested or just sunny side up. Nevertheless they were delicious. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

As said in other post “A hidden Gem!” Well take it from me it truly is… Right from requesting a set to paying out tab was truly amazing. I was so impressed when they txted us that our seat was ready, they lead us to our outside seating we requested & they already had the menu & silverware was already for us. Which anymore that’s a rare find. The server was very attentive to our needs & the food was prompt to arrive. The flavor of the food was right on point. Loved how the hash browns did not leaves oily taste in my mouth. Would I recommend??? YES 👍 an amazing stop… Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place is a setback in time, in the middle of a modern city. An intentional retro feel, with modern touches, including the ability to order online. The outside already hints at a blast from the past, and walking in, confirms it with the old style round padded and colored swivel bar stools, and matching retro decor. Immediately seemed like a popular place, as there was a waiting list for a table, and plenty of people willing to wait. Once we were called up to be seated, we were brought back to a table in the far end. It was a little cooler back there, which I personally like, but some were a little chilled. We started with giving their poutine a try. For those who aren’t familiar with this dish, it’s a plate of French fries, along with cheese curds, and brown gravy, and is much more prevalent in the Northern Regions, especially Canada. It was pretty decent, but it’s also kinda hard to go wrong with making fries and gravy and some cheese. For the meals, we had the hot beef sandwich and also the Jambalaya. Hot beef was pretty good. Again, something that’s hard to get too wrong, as it’s beef, mashed potatoes, bread and gravy, but still, it was a good selection. The jambalaya wasn’t a favorite. It resembled a bit more like dirty rice with some sausage, and then a strong sauce to give it flavor. The sauce was good, but it was very salty, and made the whole dish quite salty. I would opt for a different selection next time. Service was good, and the waitress was helpful and stayed on top of things. Over all, it was a good experience, and would look forward to being in town to try it again, to see how the experience compared to the first. So I wasn't sure what to make of this place at first. It was like I was transported back in history to my childhood. It has a very retro feel to it. The outside of the building is half shiny metal and the other half is plainly built. Upon entering, it is very tight but they make good use of their limited space. It was clean and nostalgic. There were several things on the menu you would expect to see on the menu of a retro Cafe like Elvis inspired food and drink as well as several that were surprising to me such as Cajun dishes. We sat down and had an old fashioned Carmel apple milkshake and ordered. The promptness of the food was 5*'s. They had it out to us within 10 minutes of ordering and that was extremely impressive to me. The food was great and tasted like something your grandma would make. The only reason I am not giving it a full 5*'s is simply due to the cramped environment of the diner itself.
Awesome diner, right in the middle of a cool area of town. We sat at the counter and enjoyed a very good breakfast. Service was good and employees friendly. The menu has a lot of great options to choose from however, we were feeling pretty basic! Pancakes and French toast is what we went with and they were both very good. My “two-two-two” came with 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon and 2 pieces of French toast with berries and pecans. I recommend stopping on for a great diner breakfast followed by a walk around this cool area! Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20

Had some really good food here! I had the jambalaya and my partner had the chicken strip melt. The jambalaya was flavorful and tasted of spice, but wasn't spicy (great for anyone with a sensitive tummy to spice). My partner said the only thing he'd change about the sandwich would be adding a sauce, but we put some of the cajun creme on his sandwich lol. Hope to be back soon! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
