I rarely go out in Ames anymore, but tonight my home Internet was broken, and I had a work project that absolutely had to get done. I went straight to Perkins, where I was seated at a quiet table with an outlet and high speed Internet. Although I worked through suppertime, I did not feel rushed or uncomfortable. The food (corned beef hash and eggs) was amazing, and the server (Lakan) found the perfect balance of being present and helpful, but letting me get my work done. I will definitely be back the next time I need some good comfort food and a couple hours to type. :) Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Both my husband and I were sick after eating here. Food didn’t taste right while we were eating. Didn’t finish anything and before we were out of the parking lot we both puked it up. Do NOT order the kids Mac n cheese!!!! It was always so good and they had the same Mac for at least the past decade… then in the past month or two they switched it up to literally frozen stouffers Mac n cheese… it’s utterly disgusting and a complete shame. This Perkins is hands down one of the worst locations I’ve ever been to. I have been coming here for 20 years since I was a young child with my grandparents… this place has sold out to greed over the past several years and doesn’t appreciate its loyal customer base! One thing about Perkins, they are consistent. I had a wonderful meal and my server was very professional! I had the Parmesan crusted grilled prime rib sandwich and it was fantastic!!
