I don't even know what to call the food we had, but it was not good. Salsa was weak. Chips need salt. Margarita was possibly made from a kit? Beans were the most tolerable. Who makes a quesadilla with cheese sauce and boiled shredded chicken? This place. A burrito isn't burrito with ground beef. It's a soft taco at that point. Cheese sauce on a chimichanga? Stopped here late yesterday evening for some margaritas and spicy entrées with my boyfriend and we were very pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. I would 100% recommend visiting this restaurant if anyone is looking to eat some Mexican food in a comfortable, cozy, authentic feeling atmosphere. I wish I could remember the bartender's name because her service was absolutely outstanding and on top of it!!! The wife and I decided on Mexican food for dinner while doing a little shopping in downtown Duluth. Based on the reviews we read we thought we'd give Mexico Lindo a try for we've never been there before. We loved the atmosphere and our server came to us right away which was nice. After trying out the chips and salsa though we knew it wasn't going to be good and we were right. The salsa tasted like canned tomatoes, no spice whatsoever. We ordered the fajitas for two. Typically at authentic Mexican restaurants the fajitas come out sizzling hot, this was not. When I opened up the tortillas from the aluminum foil they fell apart and had no flavor. The only thing we enjoyed was the atmosphere, her margarita and my Modelo. The fajitas were ok but not hot and frustrating because the tortillas kept falling apart. I often travel to Duluth for work and I happened to stumble upon this place one evening and the rest is history! Now I come every night I am in town for supper. Their chicken soup is to die for, I've never tried anything else, I order the same thing every time! Stood at the entry for quite awhile, finally a very rude young person in a rastacap came to seat us. Very curt, rude and seemed bothered to be assisting us in any way. Service at table was better. Food was good but not as flavorful as it could have been. Pretty typical Minnesota Mexican food. The out door seating would be amazing on a nicer day. 'Non-existant' hostess= 1 star, chomping her gum, actually rolled her eyes when we asked for a menu. Alan made up for it! 4:00 on a Friday, lots of people on the deck, (& 1 dog ;) Excellent view of the lake!!! Gorgeous building, Great food, large servings, good prices! The scenery is simply breathtaking! You have the privilege of soaking in the stunning vistas of the lake and the cityscape! While the food left a bit to be desired due to overcooking, the cheesecake stood out with its outstanding cheese. It's a pleasure to gather with friends here, basking in the lovely view. Decent food, good queso. Overpriced drinks, but good prices on lunch menu. Service was good & staff were friendly. Ask for a seat with a lake view! It's inside the Fitgers shopping plaza - and laus right against the lake- walk on the back. Enjoy the sweeping views from the decks. Ate there with my family of 5. Ate out on the deck. Fantastic views. Food was very tasty. Better than many other Mexican restaurants I've been to. Prices were quite a bit better than I expected. We didn't get anything extravagant and most had water. $65 before tip. Good service. Parking isn't easy. It's a part of the Fitger building (Google takes you to a different restaurant parking lot you can't use). We found side street parking. The boardwalk goes by it and has a stairway up to it. In Duluth this is the only good Mexican spot and it has the best view too. Good portions and they bring a nice size salsa container to your table with chips. Good drinks and crowd. I hit this spot everyone time I’m in Duluth.
