Our very dear friends who live in Falmouth had a loss in their family and were observing the Jewish mourning tradition of “Shiva”, 7 days staying at the departed’s home, praying, remembering, and sharing with visitors. During this time, it is customary for the mourning relatives to be tended to by members of the community, including having all meals prepared for them.
We live far away in Central America and couldn’t travel in time to be with our friends, so we decided to send them a “traditional” meal to their home.
Having never been in Falmouth for more than a few days, and not being familiar with the culinary scene, it came down to a google search.
After a couple of unsuccessful attempts at reaching out to delis with less than stellar attention, Rhonda and the folks at Leavitt & Sons came through for us.
With prompt and clear communication, they prepared and delivered a delicious sandwich platter for 15 people (as described by our friends), including our costume note to them.
I know it sounds like a simple task, but it wasn’t for the first businesses we contacted, and having a deadline, during mourning time, the assistance was greatly appreciated.

Can I just say, the folks over at Falmouth LSD are the best group of people I’ve ever interacted with at a storefront before. They are so sweet, fun and helpful, PLUS the food is incredible!! Highly HIGHLY recommend to anyone who needs a quick lunch, a fantastic bottle of wine and a great chat. Love them!

I’ve been coming here for 8 years now and I’ve never been disappointed with the food or service. Staff is friendly and they know me all to well. I can’t even count the amount it sandwich cards I’ve blown through! They always live right next to my card in my wallet.

Got their special summer sub. Not terribly special. Not terribly filling. Not terrible, but not very good either. Bland and blah. Also purchased a slice of inedible carrot cake. Gritty sawdust with carrot slivers and a too sweet icing. I spent over $20 on those two items. Way too much especially considering the poor quality. Live and learn.
I'd heard good things about Leavitt & Sons so was excited to get a chance to try them. Honestly, I was disappointed. I got the Caprese Sandwich and while it had a nice thick slice of fresh mozzarella, there wasn't much flavor to the sandwich. There was very little balsamic vinaigrette on the sandwich, and just one slice of tomato. Given that caprese was in the sandwich name, I expected some pesto or basil flavor. The bread was soft, but not like a Ciabatta roll that I was hoping for. Especially for $11, it wasn't worth it. Maybe it was an off day for them, but Town Landing Market and Clayton's are nearby, so I won't bother getting sandwiches here again.
Almost no seating indoors but if it's a nice day there are 5 picnic tables outside. They use all Boars Head meats and cheeses and good ingredients to make a nice sandwich. Good selection of beverages. Service was very nice and food was ready quickly. Very tasty.
Welcoming, local, good quality. In addition to the deli case, sandwiches and soft drinks, there is also a selection of bottled wine ! Really kind staff.
