We're in town for the reptile expo and decided to stop in. The waitress was super sweet and nice(I hate I didn't get her name.) The restaurant is very spacious with tv's everywhere. However, the food wasn't good. Although, the turkey was delicious; the brisket was dry and I could taste vinegar and lighter fluid on parts of it. Maybe it was just a bad day, idk! But if I'm in town again I might give this place a second chance before I count it out completely. Skip this place. Jethros used to be one of my favorite places. I suggest you stick to bbq Jethro. Gumbo gelatinous goo that's was cold appeared to be from a can or maybe in the fridge a few to many days. Pork tenderloin not cooked and doughy in the middle. I appreciate the giant size, but it doesn't really matter if you don't cook it all the way, not to mention maybe put some kind of seasoning on it. Absolutely bland. Also cold. Brisket nachos cold. Also appeared to have just been warmed up in the microwave, but not quite enough to actually be warm. A mushy mess. The brisket on top had a good flavor if it weren't so absolutely dry. The queso that came with the nachos was flavorless except for the odd sourness like maybe it went bad ? Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $50–100 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
We are so STUFFED, the food was outstanding! Plus we're taking care home loads of leftovers. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Pork Tenderloin and Fries
The blackened pork tenderloin was a first for me. Pretty good but wow, a lot of food. The sandwich had bacon, pulled pork, jalapeno sausage, and pepperjack cheese smothered with a sauce crowned in a white bun. Pretty good but too much. The jambalaya had good flavor but was buried in a large serving of rice; the proportions could have been flipped. Decent drink selection. Plenty of parking with easy access. Overall a pretty good place to eat , have a drink, and catch a game on one of the numerous TVs. My 1st and last time there. My server was pretty good and my food came out fast. However, I specifically no shrimp, due to my food allergies and I still ended up with shrimp in my food. I ordered the cajun sampler and the only thing that had a little flavor was the red beans and rice and corn bread. Our niece lives in the area and recommended Jethro's. At a store we visited one of the staff validated it as a great selection. I had the half slab ribs & half order of boneless wings, along with sides of coleslaw & cream of corn. Everyone left full! Great place to watch sports. Unfortunately Iowa lost in the Women's National Championship basketball game. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
A very extensive menu compared to most basic BBQ joints. The added Cajun items on the menu is a plus. Hard to chose what to sample! We tried the chicken and sausage gumbo and that was excellent. Also had the smoked chicken quesadilla. Would be great if they also had fried green tomatoes. Had happy hour drinks, half off, which is a solid value. Highly recommend! This was my first time at any Jethro's and I wasn't disappointed. Ever since seeing it on Food Network and Man vs Food I've always wanted to go and do the food challenge. I had never tried sweet potato fries before, they were good but their regular potato fries are better. Great sauce selections and great variety of meats and sides. Lot's of wall mounted flat screens so you can watch sports or weather or whatever. Good social distancing while still feeling like your surrounded by good people in a public place. The restaurant was clean and a joy to be in. I got my food in about 10-15 minutes. I have never had chicken like their s before. I can't wait to go back. Kid friendly, they offer your kids a color mat and crayons. Next time I may actually try 1 of their 2 food challenges.

A nice place to get a BBQ sandwich. I loved the big fat onion rings. My sandwich was just okay. The Good Housekeeping sandwich...a little dry. A little disappointed they didn't have Guinness on tap, in can only. My husband got the tenderloin..very large and he said it was good. Service Dine in Meal type Other Price per person $20–30
