We almost turned around due to the smell in the lobby. We didn't ask what had happened, but it was obviously a sewer issue. Once we got into the restaurant part the smell was gone. I told my friend once we finished eating and we're on the road again, next time we just eat pancakes and not venture off until the other items. The chicken sandwich was just blah and a very small portion of meat. My friend ordered hers with a biscuit instead of a bun, and that was a huge mistake because the biscuit just fell apart. Not in a good way either. So next time remember to stick with what they're known for, which was our mistake. Overall eating out has become very expensive and IHOP was no different. Come here on a regular basis. Food always meets expectations and the service is always good. You do have to ask for the flavored syrups we have all come to love because they are not kept on the table but, that is a minor inconvenience. They must have some new employees who take pride in their work. The restrooms are some of the cleanest of all restaurants I have visited in the Leavenworth area. There is a horrible sewage pipe smell that is absolutely offensive, but the cleanliness ensures you it is a problem beyond what you can see. I went in to order food to go. That new manager they have is fabulous! She was staying busy the entire time I was there and never forgot about me sitting in the lobby as I waited for me food. Our order was correct and delicious! Thank you! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Everything was cooked within expectations. Though their biscuits are always sort of bready. I was fine. IHOP was service solid IHOP. Nice wait staff that was prompt but not obsequious. The store needs a refresh. It has been open a while.....carpet matted, tables dinged up....general well used feeling. It was acceptable trending toward decay. This one kinda hurts to write. The good up front: the food was actually excellent. Maybe we caught them on a bad day (the day before Veterans’ Day in 2023) but the wait was intolerable. There were five tables of people and one waitress. The weird thing is that she seemed to be moving a lot but nature of the delay wasn’t clear. She was apologetic which we appreciated but we couldn’t figure out why everything was so slow. The place was pretty dead. That aside, the staff was friendly and the facility itself was mostly clean. Restrooms were actively being cleaned when we got there so that was also a nice plus. Overall, despite the good food and nice server, the literal 63 minutes from sitting down to paying just wasn’t worth it. IHOP isn’t (and shouldn’t aspire to be) a Michelin Star restaurant where people wait outside in the cold to get in. IHOPs are great for predictable, solid breakfast grub without the wait associated with a high end place. It’s SUPPOSED to be low key—it’s not a bad thing! The food was fine and my kids did not seem to mind at all. But I made the mistake of going to the bathroom before sitting down to eat and the whole ladies bathroom smelled strong of sewage. My 2 year old was gagging and begging to leave it smelled so bad. I am one of those people that that puts me off to the food and everything at that point. Our server brought our food but if I asked for a fork for my child or something it could take five minutes before it came. So we were waiting a lot for everything. But everyone was kind and despite the smell everything looked clean. It was just the smell was so bad. I hope it gets fixed soon!
