Manager is very friendly and welcoming. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Clean, good food, great vibe. Drove 1.5 hours for breakfast because first visit was great. The wife and I patronized Hot Rods in ceres 2 9 2024. Our total cost was $43 Chicken fried steak breakfast A cup of clam chowder Tenders with fries. I asked for gravy also over the hash browns. Waitress explained there would be an extra cost. I replied no thank you. The meals were delivered mine with whole wheat toast which was two slices cut in to quarters with one jelly for all slices I asked extra charge for extra jelly she replied yes. This was the worst I seen and paid for. This meal shouldn't cost over 25 dollars. I realize times are ruff and minimum wage is going up to 20 an hour. But we have choices to eat out or stay home. Always a reliable and testy meal. This used to be a legendary bar in Modesto, not so much anymore, but the food and restaurant are still amazing, FAST and delicious. This is a very reasonably priced restaurant that the entire family can enjoy. The staff is always so nice and the restaurant is clean. It is super easy to find directly off the freeway and there is a big parking lot with plenty of free parking for patrons. Anything you choose will be delicious. I’m partial to the hobo scramble with a biscuit and gravy. We love coming here! The omelettes are huge compared to other diners and cheaper. Very welcoming family environment. I love the fact they have some of their kids working here.
