Have been here a couple of times before and each visit, the quality and availability of food declines. Either they don't have enough of one item or can't get the requested meal. Came in yesterday and the meal I got (1/4 chicken) was just bland and did the job, which was to quell my hunger and wasn't enjoyable. I was on lunch break and didn't have time to wait and get it fixed. I will say the young lady who works the counter is always pleasant to me, so service isn't an issue. I hope the owner(s) take heed to my and other reviews and improve your product. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
The food at Fidel is good. The only problem is when I call to place the order. They never answer the phone!! And I noticed when I go there how the woman at the register hung up the phone so that the calls wouldn't come in. Unfortunately I think they don't like taking orders over the phone or maybe it's restaurant policy. Food is good, customer service needs improvement! The food was not what I expected. I order the lunch special fried rice and 1/2 a chicken with mixed vegetables and green beans. The mixed vegetables and green beans are not fresh vegetables they actually use frozen food which I watched them pull from the freezer. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The chicken was already made but salty. I was disappointed to see that it is not fresh food and not authentic Peruvian food. The presentation was not my liking Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 1
We entered the place and it felt like we were not welcome, the lady upfront was really really rude and loud but I would give a five stars to the guy in the kitchen, he was very kind and friendly. She didn’t even asked if we wanted to food for dinning in or to go. They served our food that was for dinning in on a to go box, not like the ones on the pictures so we were expecting our food on plates. Food was really dry, I ordered a Lomo saltado and it was very dry and it’s supposed to be juicy. But yeah, this was a really bad experience, I think the owner or manager should talk to this lady so she can at least try to be a little nicer, I have experience on costumer service and she did not provided none of that. We’ve gotten a chicken dinner with sides no less than 20 times (always takeout). Fidel’s is always so good, but tonight was the best yet. The chicken was super flavorful and juicy.. beans and rice both great. Love this place! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Really disappointed in the recent decline of this restaurant. Their food has always been one of our favorites- but the past two times we’ve tried to eat there they’ve been out of chicken (?!) at dinner time on a Friday. This includes a DoorDash order where it took 30 minutes to get an email that my chicken was substituted with more vegetables because the chicken was out of stock (so was essentially going to get a big order of sides for dinner). When I tried to call the restaurant to cancel the order the line is repeatedly busy with no option to leave a message or call back. Sadly won’t be trying to eat here again anytime soon. Came to try this Peruvian restaurant with high hopes only to be disappointed. Looks like the chicken they provided us was sitting around for a while and was WAY over cooked. Yuca fries were burnt and we could not even bite into them. Green beans were sitting around for a while and were over cooked. Only decent food item were the sauces but other than that I would recommend a pass on this place. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50
Fidel’s Peruvian Chicken is the most underrated Pollo spot in Montgomery County. They have amazing Peruvian style rotisserie chicken. The green hot sauce is the same as other pollo spots but their yellow sauce has extra seasoning and is the best I’ve had. The chicken is well seasoned and their sautéed spinach and also beans are healthy and flavorful. I just tried Ceviche here today for the first tome and it was amazing. Comparable to ceviche I’ve had from fancy more expensive Latino restaurants. The side of sweet potatoes was absolutely delicious, it was infused with clove flavor, must have been soaked in some type of clove infused marinade. I absolutely loved it. We picked up takeout here during a weeknight: The food was amazing - some of the best Peruvian chicken I’ve had in the DMV. Generous portions. The green beans were especially fantastic. My kids loved it. And the interior is clean and brand new. We’ll definitely be back! Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $1–10
I really wanted to love the food and give a high rating but it's not possible. The space has nice colors, art/graphics on the wall and looks clean. I give that a #5. Unfortunately the food is a #1. The rice taste like plastic and the chicken and yellow sauce is way too salty. I didn't have any issues with customer service but it's a serious issue to have someone taking orders that can't speak English. I also had a serious issue with an employee being hygienic. She packed the food and with the same gloves she touched other things. Not OK. I absolutely will not return here but I wish them well and hope they can improve.
