My fiancé took me here the other night. Having celiac it’s hard to find gluten free kitchens. The service was incredible, they were so nice to us even though we came in a bit later. The food was so so good and not having to worry about gluten was awesome. I haven’t had a churro in forever and it was so good. Highly recommend! Not only is this one of best places in the Twin Cities to eat, they have some of the best cocktails as well! My wife and I have worked our way through most of the menu, but we always make sure to have the scallops—they are to die for! The shrimp taco may have been the best street taco I have ever eaten. The cocktails were creative and tasty. The food is great but was a little pricey. The ambiance was tough at our table as the space is small and they really cram you in there. I would still recommend this place just for the shrimp taco alone. What a gem of a spot. Whenever I’m in Minneapolis for work I make it a point to bring out-of-town colleagues or clients here. It feels good inside, the service is 💯, and the food is top notch. The drinks are over the top, with or without alcohol (as a non-drinker, a fancy n/a drink is appreciated). Order everything. Come hungry. And save room for those life-changing churros. I celebrated my birthday dinner this year at Colita. Let me confess, sometimes, late at night, I fantasize about being there, in the glow of the ambient lighting, servers slinging plates all around me, and a bounty of delicious choices laid before me. I engorged myself to the point that I had to humbly request a box as soon as my main entree arrived. I am not big into most vegetables, especially if they're posing as the protein/meat in a dish, but I savored each of my charred eggplant toastadas until they had disappeared. The corn elote is probably my favorite thing on the menu. I assumed the ingredients were simple enough, and that sounds good. This small bowl slapped those pedestrian notions out of my head; it is a perfect blending of herbs that slowly ramps up various spices as you chew; each new flavor combination, taking a moment shine before the blend of cheeses and sour cream neutralize the spice and it almost tastes like an exotic, creamy dessert by the end of every bite. Speaking of dessert, I ordered the churros with dulce de leche, which was a deconstructed churro that came in 3 individual parts to mix and endulge however I desired. Even though I was aggressively full by this point in the meal, the sweet, rich, but delicate treat could not be denied. The next day, even reheated, the pork ribs were outstanding. The meat fell off the bone and was so succulent that I may have temporarily transformed into something from Jurassic Park. Staff was excellent, courteous, informative, but not insistent. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Corn Elote

A must try dish which is delicious is the Tempura Fried Shrimp Taco. The shrimp was crispy and the sauce had a combination of tangy, sweet, and creamy. Worth a visit just for this. Prior to this place, I had never had a vegetarian taco. Their wild mushroom tacos have introduced and inspired an amazing vegetarian version of our go to Mexican dish. Definitely worth trying. The ambience is amazing and so is the staff’s service. We didn’t have a reservation and had to camp at the bar, the bartender was friendly and good conversations as we sipped our Margaritas and Naked Dani. Worth it!
