We stopped at Christopher's Cafe on the way home for brunch. My honey had the chicken fried steak and corned beef hash and I had the meat lovers waffle! Absolutely delicious! Hometown diner of my dreams! Everyone knew everyone, but welcomed all the non regulars. Amazing food, great portions and prices. Our server was so kind and funny. They had a little homemade candle stand with the cutest candles as well! We were on a family trip across the state and just passing through Indian River. My Dad suggested Christopher's because he remembered it from a trip he took with his Grandma. It took us longer to get there than we thought, we didn't get there until 1:30 and they close at 2. The staff was so friendly, never rushed us and made us feel so welcome. The food was incredible. I wanted brunch this morning (09/17/2023) and decided to give Christopher's Cafe a try as it's only ~20 minutes from our campground outside Cheboygan. I got the steak skillet with over easy eggs and a side of hollandaise sauce. The only bummer was I'd asked for my hash browns to be crispy and they WEREN'T. 🤔 Kind of figured it was due to them being pretty busy... so gave it a pass. Their coffee was GREAT‼️and our server was good too. It was a very good 1st experience and would absolutely recommend. Described as homemade on the menu, the hash was amazeballs. Scrambled eggs and toast made a good bookend to the hash prize. The waitress was on point and nice as can be. The restaurant itself was simple/quaint but standard for the 'up north' experience. Very good all around experience. We stopped by here on our way across MI. We are from Dallas visiting family. They served the best omelet I have had in years. It was light fluffy, not overcooked. My husbands skillet was cooked just right, veggies were still a little crisp and it wasn’t swimming in cheese. Our server was so polite and attentive. This was a delightful stop. Awesome little cafe! The food was great. I got the shrimp basket and the raspberry sweet hot sauce it came with was really good. The kids really enjoyed their food as well. Waitress was super friendly and the atmosphere has a nice American diner feel. Needless to say, I was very impressed with this little place! Christopher’s Cafe exceeds expectations for a small town spot. The food is excellent and service attentive. The interior is extremely tidy and well kept. The menu is great. How can you miss with breakfast all day? Food came out hot, fresh, and quickly. Would definitely stop here again.

It is a nice little Diner in this small little town. The waitress was very nice. There was a short wait on a Sunday (I was all by myself and passed some bigger groups) but once in everything is pretty quick. Had the breakfast burrito. I really liked it. With ~11 Dollar for burrito and a coffee (got one cup to go as well) it didn't feel too expensive. The only downside is the advertisment on every cup and every table.
