Update 03/09/2024: (Another great night spent here enjoying delicious steaks and beer. )This was our first time here. Let me just say it was absolutely wonderful! From the quick responses by messenger to our server to everyone we encountered it blew me away. The friendliness of everyone upon our arrival until we left was outstanding. The place itself is just so beautiful. So let's talk about the food. We started off with the pimento cheese and spicy crackers. Nice appetizer. I ordered the 12oz ribeye , baked potato, and spicy cream corn. So delicious. I used a butter knife to cut my steak. Juicy and tender and cooked the way I wanted it. The corn was a nice dish too. My boyfriend ordered the surf n turf and it was good as well, the shrimp were big. Portions are huge. We definitely have leftovers. We did have to try the dessert and had the apple cobbler and it was just right for us two. I already can't wait to go back. Super nice restaurant in Cameron. Great place to eat outside on the patio and hang out. Usually have the 44 Farms salad with a glass of wine. The atmosphere can’t be beat. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Spinach Dip
I moved to Cameron in July, and me and my girl have been waitimg for the opportunity to try this place, so we were excited. The excitement left when we first opened the door. I was still opening the door for my girl when the host said table for two, so we didn't really hear her. Then I feel like we were judged by where we were sat. Would've been nice to experience more than the table behind the host stand. For dinner, we started with spinach and artichoke dip. It had a good flavor but needs to be creamier with more salt and pepper. For the main course, my girl ordered the hamburger steak. She was very disappointed when it arrived and there wasn't any gravy to go on top. She also had the baked potato and said it was cooked well, but it definitely didn't have any butter on it, so it was dry. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I was not told that the chicken would be grilled when Buffalo chicken should be fried. So it is a no-brainer to why my sandwich was so bland, I mean no salt whatsoever, no spice, and the sauce came on the side, worst Buffalo chicken sandwich I have ever tasted. We also had the honey sairracha Brussel sprouts. They were overcooked and very mushy. Our server Elizabeth was friendly, but she didn't seem to know the menu very well. My girl asked if the 44 Farms steak was Prime or Choice cuts. She had no idea. The service was sub-par at best. It will be a while if I ever return. The restaurant is in an old house, and it has been wonderfully restored. They have a nice patio under the trees to sit in summer and listen to music. Food is great. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Grilled Chicken Caesar
All the food was cold. The sangria was watered down. The tea had a weird flavor to it, almost like a minty or eucalyptus oil. I ordered the grilled chicken cadet salad and the chicken was tough and hard. The lemonade was very good along with the spinach artichoke dip. The chocolate mouse cake was amazing, really the only thing worth ordering. The service was also sub par. Not worth the price. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30
Very Pretty to look at and sit outside or on the sun porch. Not a place to waist money buy ordering!! Had a table of 6 two people ate their food and my bill was 170.00. Service sucked!! She came when she wanted and yet was talking and on her phone until she thought to come no matter what. Could not even drink the sweet tea.

It was extremely busy and rightfully so. When they call you back 15 minutes late for your reservation, don’t complain. The people are there because the food is fantastic! Such a beautifully restored old 1920s home. They are still having growing pains, but our waitress was a sweetheart and was very patient with us. I definitely will go back. The steak was delicious! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20
Went there with the in laws tonight! Everything was so good. I had shrimp and grits it was so good and filling. My husband and mother in law had the salmon, they loved it. My father in law had the hamburger steak and said it was really good. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We will definitely go back.

Very nice atmosphere. I had Caesar salad, it was good, reuben sandwich was good, but missing thousand island/sauce. My wife had the club & gave it a 7 out of 10. My mother had the beef & veggie soup with half sandwich of chicken salad & gave it a 7 out of 10 also. Our waitress was chassidy & she was top notch. We will plan to eat here again. Very nice upscale place, which is a welcome addition to Cameron. Pricing was fair & affordable. Also received a tour of the house which has been remodeled on ground floor, with upstairs under remodel, with plans for a market on 2nd floor. Grounds appeared well kept.
The Central Avenue Bistro is a Great New Blessing to the small town of Cameron, TX! This town needed a higher end date night kind of place with low light, candles, music, atmosphere and more importantly, great customer service. We've visited this establishment 3 times now. Once for Lunch, once for their evening Wine and Appetizers and last night for their Valentine's Reservation Dinner. The wait staff cares about your experience and so do the Owners. We can recommend this great establishment for a quick meal or a location for your next lunch meeting. It's very versatile with many seating options from Couches, to Tables to Booths. Thank you for making Cameron, TX a better place! Your friends at The BB - Jeremy & Courtney Renaud - Owners.
