Beautiful upscale restaurant. Good food, nice menu. The staff is very very nice, respectful, and attentive. However no one has ever trained them as fine dining techniques and that is sad. They check in often but ask to take away plates before they are finished. Mid fork in mouth. Push to clear the table. Bring the next course when you haven't finished what you have in front of you. They were accommodating when they saw I had ordered myself the short ribs and didn't realize it was ravioli. But pushed the desert before entries were finished.. pushed the check when it was never asked for and we were still eating. Asked to box food three times. There were open tables and no one was waiting.. This lack of proper service etiquette is very common in southern Indiana and Louisville. I wish I could go in and train the staff for free. I want to reiterate the staff was kind, attentive and respectful. But their parents never taught them fine dining etiquette, nor management . I think this area has rolled silverware because no one one would know how to properly set a table. It still matters and is expected. If you want to be in the upper category of restaurants and charge the high prices teach your staff the flow of proper service. Teach them that when someone is ready for you to take a plate their fork will be upside down on a plate, not heading to their mouth. Teach them to serve from the left clear from the right. Be responsible for kitchen timing for the next course as you watch the timing of your guests. Again it if not just here. It's mostly everywhere with a few restaurants with excellent service. It's not just about being nice and smiling y'all. It's about educating your predominantly extremely young staff who's parent don't have a clue either. We got there about 10 minutes early. We were unable to get a drink while we waited. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Nutella Chocolate Cake
We had a lovely meal on a special occasion. Kristen deserves a shout out for a great wine recommendation and she knew when to come to the table and when to let us enjoy our dinner.
Went here for our one year anniversary! Really great atmosphere, good spot for a romantic evening with talented musicians. Will definitely be coming here more often. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We visited for the first time last night for our Valentine's Day dinner. They restaurant vibe is just ok. I guess I was expecting something a little more romantic and upscale but it was lacking. Background music was bad and dress code not enforced. Our waitress was annoying and dirty. I made our reservation based on the menu and reviews...failed horribly. I was wanting raw oysters which is on the menu but for a Valentine's Day special they decided to cook ALL of them. Epic fail on their part. That changed my entire meal that I had planned. We got the shrimp cocktail to start and the whole 4 shrimp for $16 was a joke. I settled for the salmon and my husband got a steak. They were both ok but not worth the money. All around just too much hype and too expensive. Save your money. We should have went to River House. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
